I got my old diary back Brizzle but decided to carry on with my new one.
We're getting an award winning bar opening up at the end of our road next month, selling real ale, gin and fine wines, will be really tempting as it will literally be just 5 minutes' walk away.
I think days like today are only fit for keeping warm with your feet up drinking red wineI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Thats great news for the soul SA, maybe less so for your wallet
But maybe you can set aside a special line in YNAB (I think you use that?) for that kind of spend?? :rotfl:
Will Mr SA like it do you think? How is he with new stuff? Or does he prefer the places he knows?
Know what you mean, its quite good to have a new one, less keen on my newbie status though...still a little disconcerting to have my history wiped in a flash. But it does mean I came clean about some extra spends that have come along in second half of 2017 and early 2018. Carthartic then I guess.
Going to get ready for work for tomorrow and beef is in. Whoop! Will be following Delia's advice on timings..she is never wrong about this stuff0 -

Hi Beanie, I did message them. First one bounced back, but did send one eventually. But as SA said, part of me is content to move on. At least I can access the other one. Its not gone...do you know whether they ever do? Is there a timelimit beyond which I find there is no activity they are deleted from the Forum?
Had a lovely evening with our friends, agreed should do it more often. Why cook for one family when can easily cook for two? Lots of laughter and chat. The kids were on top form.
Heres to a great week....hope the optimism lasts0 -
And PS. Delia wasnt wrong...obviously.. and SSG..there is always mulled wine at our house....
I am about to make some sloe gin too...youre very welcome anytime0 -

Happy New Diary!
Did you get much snow? Snow day here todayWhere is the spring? Sun's out now though and it's all melting thankfully
My original diaries are still pootling around and some older than mine which are no longer used, so your old diary should be ok."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Just made 4 bottles of sloe gin this evening jwil and beanie.. you're all very welcome. I love it neat, but its also very bearable as a long drink with tonic. A dear friend who is Aussie did not know it was usually drunk as an after dinner liqueur and just mixed some up with ice and a slice! After my shock I coped admirably well
Grocery spend today and omelettes all round. I love eggs - cheap and healthy. Very quick meal too, always a bonus on a Monday. Weather wasnt too bad thanks jwil, got to London which is where I needed to go. Jeffing freezing it was tho... real bitter.
Lots of revision and test preparation today. You can feel the public exam season coming on fast! DD1 also has her DoE practice coming up.. her floor is half filled with kit, the other half with revision!
Thanks for dropping by. Xx0
