The WM is chugging away with the bedding, towels are next, had a really lazy day yesterday so will need to crack on with it today.

Such sad news re your friends wife Nelski that is no age for sure.
With Jackie’s GGC and Scarlet Ribbons expected arrival its good to hear baby news on the thread.

    Morning

Really restless last night couldn't stop thinking about my friend and his family. its awful to feel so helpless. Need to keep busy today to stop the thoughts.

So need to have a good clean up of the house ready for hosting 12 on Monday... would do it all over the weekend but already lots of plans so need to crack on with as much as possible today. The pitch went well yesterday so fingers crossed ...they were seeing 7 companies so not sure what those odds are so probably best forgetting it for now and scrubbing a sink instead:D

Had some cottage pie from the freezer last night ...starting to see a bit of space in there now but still long way to go. Need to keep a balance between using up and keeping in lots of meals for when I have my op. Tonight I think I fancy fish cake chips and peas as a bit of a treat after a weird week.

RedRuby hope your doctor can get to the bottom of how you feel :A
TAyour magical mystery tours sound amazing :) ill be thinking of you during the dreaded Friday tidy!!
ScarletRibbons how exciting for you bet you cant wait :)

Ill be back later if I hear any news from Holly she was quiet yesterday so hoping to hear today

    Enjoy your days everyone:A

Another Shetland fan here - I can't wait for next week's episode, it's very intriguing.

Hester, are you mooring permanently somewhere other than the marina or will you be peripatetic?

Morning chums well DGD Katies trip to see the consultant ended with her being able to go home again :) as he has decided that she is fine, and progressing well, and he is going to let nature decide when the new baby appears :) So the little one will have a few more days keeping warm with her Mum :) bearing in mind the weather forecast, the baby is in the best place :)

History club this afternoon:)and I have a nice fillet of salmon taken from the freezer for dinner tonight with mash and green veg.

Tomorrow morning I have promised to go to the local church coffee morning, hopefully it won't be too cold in there I always support it as its only a small church and every little bit helps, plus the cakes are really gorgeous as one of the ladies makes a very superior sort of cake :):):) I will possibly bring a slice or two home for over the weekend (think Mary Berry type of cake :))

Well although is bright here in Kent its not very warm and due to get colder as the weekend progresses. My DD and her OH and ma-in-law are down at her caravan this weekend and I think their nuts as its not really the weather for sleeping in a caravan ,more so for her ma-in-law Margaret, at 81 she needs to be warm, maybe they will return home early if its too cold.

Right time to get a shift on as I too have a Friday Tidy to do
Have a good weekend chums and scarletribbons how exciting a new baby in your family as well.

Take care all and keep wrapped up warm.

    JackieO xx

P.S. gers I have recorded the Shetland series and will watch it back to back over the weekend probably, especially if we get the promised snow

Now I'm glad I didn't mention the name of the character, it's worth watching and waiting for. I'll be so sorry if he is the baddie.

I've been out to post my wee parcels, bought more milk and had a wander round. Didn't go very far as BEAR are relaying swathes of our trunk road through the town and there's cars all backed up. A convoy system is taking them through the two affected T junctions and one roundabout. Chaos!

Now I've put on some estate mince to cook. My first thought was a bolognese sauce but I find that I'm out of garlic so it's becoming a chili mix instead.

Nelski - looking after a friend in need is what you are good at! They are all lucky to have you.

Feeling virtuous as I have cleaned the Kitchen and Bathroom and made a big pot of lentil soup. Small shop to do and then plan to catch up on a couple of TV programmes and knit.

I have a nice few days with various friends and plans for son and family to get to see Mother in Law in New Zealand are finally getting sorted.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend, snow free would be good.

Evening all, sorry for the late post but time has run away from me today.
We had to go back to the pharmacy this morning to collect the missing medication. Success !!
Phoned Dad to see if he was better.... he was. Success number 2 !!
This afternoon we collected DGC from school and took them to their school spring fayre, cost me an arm and a leg, for rubbish really. We brought them back here and waited for DD to arrive then we all had a roast dinner, followed by a selection of cakes :D.
On the housework front nothing much has been done today except putting the DW on, twice. I seem to spend more time doing that than anything else . I must have a cleaning day tomorrow !
We too are due another bout of snow over the weekend and my headache has started already :(.
JackieO and ScarlettR Hope the new babies arrive soon, safe and well.
Gers please put me out of my misery. What is " estate mince ? "
Nelski Hugs back at you. Sorry to read about the lady's passing, 50 odd years is much too soon.
RedRuby How did your appointment go ? I hope everything is ok.
Hope everyone has had a good day. Take care and hugs to anyone who needs/wants one.

Nannywindow - it's mince from the cows on the estate where I live! Free range, organic and probably got a name but I don't want to know it as it's been wandering around the field outside my house.

I'm lucky enough to have lamb, venison and beef all stuffed in my freezer and all coming from outside my door.

The wind is still wild outside. There's an amber weather warning for the weekend so I'm staying inside tomorrow if it comes to pass.
  • Good evening everyone,

Another fan of Shetland here:) have watched weekly but have kept the recordings & will watch back to back at a later date :o

Started off very bright & sunny & reasonably warm. Pottered about a bit then off to the P.O. & sent Easter Eggs to DSis in France + posted stuff to DB in Germany. Then off to cs, new lady, Diane, who booked collection of cabinet for next Monday (more space :j ) & just as grateful to receive anything & everything. Only a small amount of stuff this time incl. badges, packets of cleaning clothes, mini Minions, wall decorations etc & the box of lemon & ginger teabags for Natalie:rotfl: Then the rain come sleet started so got a bit wet walking to sm:( Not too crowded so didn’t take too long - I really do dislike shopping even if I have a list to follow :o

Got home to find DH had replaced the upstairs fire alarm & wired in the new landing light. Now he just needs to do the final touch ups of painting to complete the landing & stairs.

Tonight’s dinner is from the freezer - hm lasagne & hm peperonata.

Hugs & positive vibes to everyone especially Holly.
