the three letter process

  • ... I am now sat here with pre legal action letters waiting to be taken to court, have ccjs added to my credit file again and my life ruined...
Your life is not ruined. The CCJs will be removed from your credit files after six years. And besides, the 'pre action protocol' letters give you a chance to avoid CCJs.
I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

    I love my job

  • I was promised so many times the 3 letter process works and fought to pay off most of my debts for many years.i 3 lettered some to take the burden off my monthly income I finally got rid of the last ccj off my file last month. CCJs really badly affect your credit rating and I o not want any more on my file. You have to pay much higher interest on loans, credit cards and mortgages???

Why not try to avoid the CCJs by making some repayment plans, rather than messing around with the magical and nonsensical three letter process?
  • Rather than trying a magic spell, are you not able to pay as you’d agreed to?

Can you take on a second job, perhaps, or do you have anything to sell?

You’ve not explained why you won’t, or can’t pay, could you write up a full statement of affairs so the people can give relevant advice?
  • Absolutely and 100% will never take on a second job to pay off cretins who buy a debt for 12% of the original value and then hound people in to paying far more. This should not be legal in this country!
I was seriously ill for 4 years in and out of hospital and at one point the consultant said they can't do anything and I need to get my affairs in order. Do people understand I was going to work crying in pain for months at a time just to stop me being homeless and keeping my head above water. I have no living relatives so completely on my own.
While I was dying, (unfortunately I didn't) these vicious debt companies bought and sold my debts for pennies and in the end I didn't know what I owed to who, none of these so called debts show on my credit file?
Also at this time bailiffs came into my home and took everything I ever owned leaving me with nothing.
Every now and again I would get a debt firm send me a letter, I'd ask a few questions and they would disappear. I went to the CAB who kindly told me to go bankrupt and give away my home I was fighting for.
I have never agreed to pay anything to these people hounding me and unfortunately I have been led to believe the 3 letter process would solve a lot of my problems?
  • You don’t need to have agreed. The people to whom you owe money are allowed to assign their rights to collect payment to a third party.

It’s not the lenders’ fault that you were ill, nor those now trying to collect. If you owe the money then there’s no point getting angry at the people who are trying to collect it, it won’t help.

You need to forget the three letters thing, it’s a hoax, made-up, it doesn’t work, it’s not a thing. There are no magic words that you can send to a company to make this go away.

If you are insistent that you won’t repay your debt, even if you could, then that’s your choice, but I don’t think that it’s likely to be a good one.
  • Getting a second job to pay these cretins is just ridic, I can barely hold down my job now because of on going health issues. I am constantly exhausted.
One of the parasites chasing me is for a credit card that I froze over the phone when I was ill. They said that will be ok as it's in their terms and conditions, I then got out of hospital to find they hadn't frozen it and whacked on charge after charge making the interest impossible to pay. They then completely denied they ever had a phone call from me. So it really is not that simple so why should I then go on to pay all these extra charges to a debt company that they bought for 12% when they should never have been put on the account in the first place!
  • The amount they paid for the debt is not of any relevance. It's not as if the debtors are good at repaying.

You just need to focus on the amount owing

Have you contacted one of the debt charities (CAP UK, National Debtline and Step Change) for advice on how to deal with your debts?
  • Yes I did and they said go bankrupt which was ridiculous
