I lov ebeing able to legitimately buy pressies, see people I love & not be on work! I know though that it can be a very lonely time of year for some. I struggle with winter generally - next year will start taking St Johns wort in August & see how I do! This year I didnt & Sept/Oct were a real struggle. I think its not being able to get to my allotment in the week, then it rains as the weekend and I end up being at home only in the dark...roll on lighter eves!
Hi isom i do hate all the comercial side of christmas,
but what i hate more is the falseness, pretence, waste and stupidness that christmas entails,
The i've got to get this, got to get that all that !!!!!!!!
Yes I am single(again) but i see the people I love whenever I can and they do the same to me, if i've got a gift to give them i give it, but that is there all year.
This year is the first time I've gone to work in daylight in 20+ years but i still feel the same,
Something an old (R.I.P.) friend once said to me and has stuck in my mind
"mistakes I can put up with, stupidity I can't"
and to me christmas is stupid - I ran out of milk 23 december went to supermarket, looked at que the milk would have gone off by time i got served.
guess i should change my name to humug

I also loathe the commercalism of Christmas but do manage to enjoy it regadless - you dont have to buy into that after all! For me Christmas IS special because I get to think carefully about the pressies I buy, dont go nuts with food etc but have a break...will be good to get back into a routine though..Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! I enjoy it at the minute because the kids are at the right age (4 and 2). However I agree with you ISOM, it will be nice to get back to normal and the kids back to school/nursery - they have plenty of excess energy at the mo xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok what does IYKWIM mean? I've been wracking my brains and still don't know!
Yes I am feeling better after that splurge and more in control now. Plus (hubby doesn't know yet) but New Year will see both of us doing the housework so that I have more time. I love cross stitch and want to make pictures for next Christmas but don't seem to have the time and as hubby went through a very stressful time I quietly took it all over. He's better now and is willing to help out more so I think I'll take advantage of that.
Plus have discovered CSI so def need more telly time!!!!!
Hugs to all....................esp those who need it.
