Amount of Debt July 2010 - £46,000:eek:0 -
Hi all,
I have read most of this thread and have decided this is where i need to be (not want lol)
Me and OH owe about £30000, i only discovered it was this amount this weekend when i was determinded to sort out our debt only to find this.
Havent entered it all onto a snowball yet as i need to get fifures and interest rates etc but i know it wont be paid off in a few weeks!
I am hoping to change my job to self employed in a few weeks so i am hoping i can knock off some good amounts but until that happens its just minimum payments and pennies,
My plan is to take the lowest debt each time and pay everything i can off, i know i will pay more interest on some of the higher amounts but i think that if i can see debts disappearing i will be more and more motivated to get rid of them if you see what i mean?
Looks like i am going to be hear a LONG time.
Can i have a number please?£10 a day challenge for nov £0/£300
£10 a day challenge for jan £282.11/£310, feb £483/£290, mar £650/£310, apr £332/£300, may £440/310, jun £470/£300 jul £795/£310 aug £3660/£310, sept £510/300 oct £710/£310
£2012 in 2012 £8182.88/£2012 :beer::T0 -
Welcome Kashton. In search of me will be along and allocate you a number.
Re the paying off small debts first. I think quite a lot of folks do that just for the sheer motivation of seeing them disappear. I hope this works for you. You might change your mind when you do the snowball and actually see what you get charged in interest. It is a shocker:eek:. I think it is just legal robbery and until I started on here I had no idea that when I was paying £60 minimum payment to my cc that only £5 came off the debt and the rest was interest. I probably didn't want to know if I'm perfectly honest, I just wanted to keep spending. Not anymore. Good luck on your debt journey. Keep posting x

It's been a while since I last checked in...The light bulb had a bit of a flicker, and I lost my motivation..
But I'm back. Decided not to go down the DMP/IVA route as I really want to move house in 2013/14..so need to pay everything off myself.
DS is now 16, and I've got the opportunity of a second job. It's working with vulnerable people in residential units. It's not a million miles away from what I do for my full time job. Only difference is these are 12hr shifts. I currently work Mon-Fri, so am not sure if I should work a 12hr day shift, or do the nightshift (don't mind nights too much, and I'd still feel like I'd been at home over the weekend). Am a bit nervous about staring somewhere new - I've worked at the same place for nearly 20yrs!!! But it will be an enormous help when it comes to making ends meet. Still waiting for my CRB check to come back though ....seems to be taking an age :mad:LHS No 2220 -
Good luck with the new job Teeter:j0
