rt its worth a ring for advice...you dont have to give details initially. Difficult with work...I have the same problem in some ways but thankfully it didnt come to that. The other thing to consider is you doing a dmp for some of it so at least you freeze some interest?
When the barstewards get you down (as they do at times) just come on here! We'll cheer you up! baby steps and all that...
TEK hang in there...re the figures does this take interest into account? As i've discovered its a b***** and can really mess with (a) your head (b) your figures (c) your dfd (d) increases the desire to not pay interest to nasty cc co's...but alas in my case doesent stop me always....ie tody got two goldfish to replace bob the hamsters space!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Yes ISOM got to really sit down & do a budget again once wedding's over. Still paying alot of interest on some CC's & OD's but also got some 0% & low LOB deals. It does take the interest into account. Our last good month we cleared £700 of our debts but then there's the bad months aswell so if we can clear an average of £250-£300 a month for the time being we should hit targets & then as the loans start to clear we will be able to pay more off each month. It is the same as snowballing I guess but just seems easier in theory hitting a yearly target rather than looking at the total figure which will seem like a lifetime to clear IYKWIM!!DEBT AT LBM(1/7/07)-£35,052.19 DEBT (31/08/10) Average amount paid off P.M. £67.96 Paid off so far £2582.68(7.3%) Target to pay off in 2010 £2,340.14/£3,600 LH Supporter(165) DFD September 2110:eek:0

It sounds like a plan TEK, just take it as it comes like you i dont like to see a constant reminder of my figures i think we all do so well paying our debts off so hear hear to that we could still be blowing it all on luxuries of life... Ooohh!!! Received a NI refund today of £186 after Mr Stupid Employer knacked it all up last year. That was a nice surprise.
What to do with it?
A) put it in one account and fritter awayput in main account and pay off a bit of O/D
C) put in account, wait to clear and use to pay off DP card and rest on bit of utilities bill
Yes I know, resisting the urge to quickly book a week away and it is going to pay the DP card off at long last and then I can finally close it down and close this chapter of my life.
I haven't used this card for years, the balance just stays where it is with just the minimum payment made (I KNOW! I KNOW!) I don't have any other store cards and I'll be over the moon when this one goes and it is just the CC's left. Believe me that is enough of a job to clear these big mammas.
Right I've decided, the thought of clearing this debt with a surprise windfall repayment makes me smile. This'll be a first, I would never have done this before pre LBM.

It's done :j
Paid off £144.44 today, ready and waiting for payment to clear and close the DP a/c down for good!
Will achieve a minimum of 3 debt repayments this year
AA Loan £7500 - paid off May 09
DP SC £144.44 - paid off August 09
Black Horse Loan £1000 - will pay off in Nov 09
Quite surprised as I didn't feel like I was achieving that much this year.
Next task is to work out how to tackle the CCs, how to repay these as quickly as possible and then close these down one by one.
Incidentally I've been tackled twice in Tesco's this week by their finance people asking me if I wanted one of their CC. She told me all Tescos will have their own banks in shortly and the banks will be run by Tescos.
themselves as they have taken their CC back over and run this too. Wonder how this will go down as Mr T's have such a wonderful  reputation IMHOfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

Just worked out on the snowball calculator it will take me 3 years of hard payment to pay off the CCs.
Blast! Forgot until then I had 4!3 are frozen in a cup of water in the freezer and no details are up to date for immediate payment. This has stopped me a few times spending and now it is coming up to a year I don't think about spending on them any more
Oh well with some hard work I might be CC free by the 2012 Olympics and I will have beaten my target of paying them off before I am 40
That's not as bad as I thought, not withstanding any of life's journeys and events :rolleyes:final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
ooo, I like the idea of paying off CCs before the olympics! Not sure if I can achieve that, but I might aim for it!!!
Our CC balances total about £24k, thats £8k a year, hmmm, maybe doable!
Good plan FedUpAndSkint, I might join you with that!!0
