I think you definitely did the right thing; you'll never, ever replace Bill, but you were able to fill that horse-shaped hole in your life.

I'd love to ride again, but I doubt it will ever be possible now.:(

LW I am aware you have mobility issues but also that we are not a million miles apart so just wanted to say that if you ever want to come to visit Lu you are more than welcome, she is a gentle, respectful horse on the ground and is always ready for a fuss, as long as you bring an apple with you :)

Gers...if you want a hard surface instead of grass you will have to address drainage...the water that is being held by the grass has to go somewhere!

    Evening all
I made it through my teeth MOT with only a clean and polish :D.
Well I can't wait for this week to end, as there was another problem today with Mr Fix It's medication. The pharmacy had run out of his cancer tablets, so we have to go up again tomorrow :(. I do hope they are there, I don't need the hassle of that too :(.
Dad didn't come for tea as he has a tummy upset, mind you it's not surprising as he eats things that are OOD. We have been telling him for ages that he will be ill, but he knows better apparently. We had the venison liver anyway and it was delicious, plus there is enough leftover for freezing :j
This afternoon we had a phone call from Joan next door, sobbing that she had been robbed ..... she hadn't. We eventually managed to calm her down, but it is getting harder and harder. Then she was trying to lock her door again, open/slam, open/slam .... about 30 times, she stopped when her carer arrived. I feel so sorry for her. I can't do anymore as I've already spoken to her DS. ( her DD is no where to be seen :( )
I did eventually get to colour my hair this afternoon but I missed a spot... oops ! Never mind it won't notice as it's under my fringe, well not until there's a gust of wind :rotfl:.
Nelski I have also had my council tax bill, but thankfully it has only gone up by £5 odd a month. Good job on the car MOT.
Would you be able to do some canapes for your group, some things on sticks like fruit kebabs, cream cheese on cucumber / or celery etc. I notice there are quite a few ideas on Pin*erest.
Hopefully something can be done soon to get Holly nearer home, I shall keep everything crossed till it happens. Please send her my love when you're in contact again. Thank you for keeping us in the loop :A
MrsSD The council finally took your furniture ! :T
MaddieMay thank you for your support yesterday :A
Snoozer I hope that you enjoy your birthday on Saturday :bdaycake: and the Cotswolds.
I think an early night is in order, but " NO BANANAS " tonight :rotfl:
    Take care all. Night, night.
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently

So...I sat down youngest told him we were going away on Tuesday through to Friday...asked him what food he wanted bought in etc. In the time it took to make a cup of coffee, he'd arranged for his girlfriend to come and stay.

"Didn't take you long to make plans" says me.

Then it dawned on me, he's at work all day whilst she will be in the house all day.

He's gone off in a huff cause I've had a go at him. He can't see the problem. I'm unreasonable. Now if I discuss it with Grump he will put his foot down and say no way and phone him and give him a lecture so I am the bad one for putting my foot down. Whatever I do I'm to blame. If I involve Grump then I'll be blamed for him getting a lecture off Dad....Nobody wants a lecture off Dad.

Would anyone else be comfortable with someone you've only met once roaming round your house alone?

She's at uni...obviously not going in this week. Well I've told him it's not happening but in reality, I won't be here to enforce it.

Judi same as Floss ......no way ....problem will be stopping it I guess. Not going to be much of a break for you and grump if you're worrying :(

nanny sorry your dad is feeling unwell. I have the opposite with mum she chucks anything that is even approaching a best before (not OOD) so much waste but I guess she is not getting ill. My council tax has gone up by 10 quid but they are also now charging for garden waste

Thanks for the ideas for Monday both both great :) Ill have a proper think tomorrow and plan it out.

Feeling very reflective tonight after finding out my closest male friend's wife had a massive heart attack on monday and has been declared brain dead ..she was only mid 50s. I didnt know her personally so my sadness is for him and their family its such a shock. The loss of anyone close is always terrible but at such a young age and so out of the blue. Makes you think ....hug everyone a bit closer tonight x
