I am at home I had a bit of a funny time at work yesterday and ended up bursting into tears and coming home, I have zero energy levels and this has been getting worse and worse over the last two years, I slept two hours yesterday afternoon and then ten hours over night and could still go back to sleep now, I have a Dr's apt for tomorrow so im hoping he can help me, I honestly feel like im dragging myself through life atm and getting no enjoyment out of it, my job is very hard and stressful but I do love it, I have told them at work I wont be in for the rest of this week so will hopefully get some rest and then I hope the Dr can help.

I have put a wash on this morning but it will have to go in the airer as its raining, going to do a quick tidy round and then have a snooze, dinner will be whtever I can get out of the freezer.

JackieO I meant to say well done to your son in law :T

Nels thank you for the updates re Holly xx

Take care everyone and have good days xx

Just a quick pop in as I've got a dental check up this morning. My dentist is lovely and I have been going to her for years but she's a talker, so by time she will get to my appointment she's already about half an hour behind !
Neither Mr Fix It nor myself had a very good night as his injection site is unusually very sore and I was having several nightmares. Note to self " do not eat a banana just before going to bed " I could give Wes Craven a few tips :rotfl:.
Dad is coming to tea tonight and we are having liver and bacon with mash and onion gravy. One of our neighbours kindly left some venison liver for us ( his SiL is a gamekeeper ) but I have never had it before. I shall treat it like normal liver but I hope it's not too gamey !
Redruby Many years ago when I was working, I was diagnosed with S.A.D. and anaemia and put on several courses of iron tablets because I had your health problems. I usually get a blip in the winter even now. HTH
Right I shall have to love you and leave you because my appointment calls.
May pop back later for a catch up.
    Hugs to all xx

Redruby, perhaps ask your Dr if he will do a thyroid function test (although I would have thought they would anyway.

I'm not posting much at the moment because life would seem very dull if recounted. Like TA I had tears in my eyes at Holly's response to the card. I do hope that her solicitor can help sort things out and at least get her meds going again.

The son of someone I know was jailed last year against all expectations but the judge said he wasn't showing remorse for what he had done (he didn't harm anyone, it was property damage). The lad has aspergers among other MH problems so can't show empathy. He was not allowed his medication until he was assessed by the prison psychiatrist which took weeks. I no longer wonder why our prisons are such a shambles.

We're off to the Cotswold's tomorrow to celebrate my big birthday on Saturday. I went to the hairdresser yesterday but when I arrived I had to wait because she was putting colour on an old lady. Then, when she was cutting my hair and talking about my 60th on Saturday the old lady said "I was 60 yesterday". I hope I'm not being too vain when I say that I don't think I look as old as she did (I thought she was around 70). I've still got undyed brown hair and relatively smooth skin, not that I can take much credit because it's a genetic thing. I've never liked sitting in the sun though and have never smoked so that probably helped.

RedRuby - sorry to read that you're so under the weather and hope that the doc can sort it all out.

My glorious attempt to make a vegan Victoria sponge were in vain, it's horrid. I used soya milk, soya yogurt and followed the instructions. It's just leaden despite the SR flour and baking powder. Probably the birds will enjoy it.

My DM has just emailed to say that she's agreed to sell her car to a friend. She's both sad and glad, I have to say that I''m mostly glad! Now I'm hoping that it can be done and dusted soon as the tax runs out on 31 March. The car has not moved since about September last year and DM doesn't drive far enough to keep the battery going even when she does use it. Now she can save the £115 tax and £400 insurance plus service /MOT costs to pay for taxis.

It's taken DM a long while to accept using taxis as everyday transport. Her generation used them for 'important' occasions only.

Now just about to head out into the stormy weather for lunch, cakeless but content.

My girlie was perfect for the farrier yesterday and made me realise how far we have come as a partnership in the last 7 months, they say it can take up to a year for a mare to bond with her owner but think we are pretty much there, she’s a diamond for sure and am so glad that I made the decision to have another horse after losing dear old Bill.
I think you definitely did the right thing; you'll never, ever replace Bill, but you were able to fill that horse-shaped hole in your life.

I'd love to ride again, but I doubt it will ever be possible now.

Nelski Thanks for passing on Holly's message; it's so good that we've been able to bring just a little bit of light into her life.

Mr LW was supposed to go and see the Consultant about his cough this afternoon - he had a whole load of tests in Jan/Feb and this would be the follow-up to those. However the health centre called him and said the consultant is off ill, so his appointment has been deferred to 12th April - that's a whole extra four weeks. :(

News from Holly the solicitor had a word about the ridiculous post code lottery and the risk of her having none so the hospital pharmacist drove back to her home town and picked some up (valuable use of senior staffs time??) at least she has some now

Big sigh of relief this morning as the car sailed through its MOT ...feel very proud :rotfl: The garage I take it to has a viewing camera and its painful watching and thinking he's spending too much time on one bit :D Anyway all done for another year.

Council tax came in ...ouch could've been worse I guess but still a painful hit when I do wonder what I get for it.

Liver bacon and onions for dinner last night with cabbage carrots and mash.....mmmm got some more liver in the shop I am a convert

    For general info:
    1. The local library: In addition to book-lending services, public libraries usually offer community classes, special events and computer facilities – which your Council Tax pays for.
    1. Police and fire services: Both receive funding from multiple sources, one of which is your Council Tax.
    2. Street cleaning and waste collection: Rubbish collection, recycling and street cleaning are all paid for from the Council Tax pot. This includes commercial collections too.
    1. Water and sewerage services: In Scotland, Council Tax includes the cost of water and sewerage services.
    1. Parks and recreation: Maintenance and upkeep for public spaces, parks, galleries, theatres, museums, leisure centres and community swimming pools is all paid for with Council Tax. This can also extend to museums, which means free entry.
    2. Social services programs: This means everything from day care for children to assistance for vulnerable individuals such as those with dementia.
    3. Schools, education and youth services: In England, schools are funded by the central government’s Dedicated Schools Grant. However, Council Tax is sometimes used to help boost education and fund programs such as after-school care or at-risk youth services. In Scotland, schools are funded entirely by Council Tax.
    1. Housing provision and advice: Council housing is funded through the local council, often with the use of this tax. People who are homeless or living in unsafe conditions are prioritised.
    2. Community development: Councils can use the tax revenue to undertake projects which might benefit the growth of their community. Glasgow City Council for example, recently funded the completion of the M74 motorway and Riverside Museum with Council Tax.
    1. Street lighting and road and bridge maintenance: Many road bridges are owned and maintained by the council so maintenance and repairs need to be paid for by this tax. Street lighting and council car parks are also included.
    1. Administration and record keeping: Council Tax pays for the cost of local elections, as well as administrative issues, including registrars of marriages, deaths, and births. Mortuary and cemetery services may also be covered by Council Tax, as well as the administrative costs of running a council.

C+P made numbering come out funny, sorry.

Thanks Floss - will try that one next. Didn't tell my friend about my rubbish cake, she would have insisted on taking it home. I've tried some drowning it in cream and sprinkled with dried raspberry powder and it's just stodgy!

Lunch was good and chatting to my friend was lovely. She's more keen than me on getting my 'front garden' sorted and came laden with seed catalouges. We talked about me getting rid of some of the back lawn and replace with paving - the soil is perpetually soggy, so much that I can't get the grass cut very often even in summer. Still having an internal debate!

    Hi Nelski,

Thank you so much for keeping us up to date about Holly :T :A Probably less paperwork required for the hospital pharmacist to pick up the prescription - probably just had to flash his/her badge proving is the pharmacist.
    Congrats on the MOT:j

My DH pays all the bills online or by dd, I used to pay the mortgage but we took the decision a few years ago to pay it off fully so we are now lucky enough to be mortgage free:T

Could you do a Buffet? You could also make it vegetablist as in my limited experience most carnivores don’t mind a meat free meal on occasion. Unfortunately don’t know anything about the gluten free food.

My grand plans from my earlier post are all gone to pot. However :j the council finally collected the old furniture from my drive :j:T:)
The rain put me off going to the P.O. & DH hasn’t gone to the Tip but he is planing the bottom off the spare room door. We have also wrapped up the new carpet offcuts & put them in the garage on the shelf above the door. I have cleaned 4 of the 8 drawers I emptied & I am just sorting out what is going back in - with any luck I will have several empty drawers!

Anyways - see you all later
