Do you get a lost of junk mail?

I used to do tons of competitions on the radio many years ago and now I'm getting back into twitter comps (not won anything yet). However it seems that the bigger comps are ones that you have to give your home address.
So my question is, Do you do a lot of comps that require your home address and does that not open you up to tons of junk mail?
I'm keen to try the bigger comps but not so keen if tons of junk mail is the downside.
Thanks

I enter 100s every week, and I don't think I get any more junk post than I did before I started. I meticulously tick (or untick) the relevant buttons on every comp. Most of the junk phone calls I get are on my landline, and they ask for me by my former name (or my late first husband), so that's nothing to do with comping as I wasn't doing it then. The majority of my junk emails are to an email address I haven't actively used for 10 years, so again, not from comping. I don't get any more junk through the mail than I used to, I get loads more junk emails, I get the odd PPI-type phone call but not noticeably much more than before I started comping. I'm happy to put up with a load more junk emails- as far as I'm concerned the potential benefits far outweigh any negatives.0

Same as above. Always give full name, address and phone number when needed. Occasional marketing call trying to sell my something that I entered to win and occasional PPI/Car accident call but I politely decline marketing and hang up on the others. Only 'junk mail' I get is some catalogues advertising the products I entered to win.. Must have entered to win jewellery with clogau and got one of their brochures through the post yesterday. I just open it and chuck it in the recycling bin. I probably get one, maybe 2 a month.0

New to this and interested in thread. I've entered a few comps but have always untocked boxes for contact etc etc. But I have been receiving zero spam mail which is making me think that maybe you need to allow communication from companies in order to win?? Thanks.0

I was advised to set up an entirely new email for comps so it makes it a bit more straightforward. + you have to watch as some comps have an UNTiCK if you don't want us to send promotional mail.0 -

As per the comping guide11 If you opt in or out of their mailing / 3rd party mailings, does it affect your chances?
I ALWAYS indicate a big fat 'no' to both of those, unless it is something that I'd really like to hear more about or a comp you enter by signing up for their newsletter.
It should make no difference to whether you are included in the comp or not, although some smaller companies may break the rules. I have to say I’ve been really lucky with wins & it seems to have made no difference whatsoever to my chances by always opting out where I can. It just means that I end up with less spam & on less junk mail lists.

A lot of email, but that's okay because it's a specific comping email.
Post- it's maybe a few bits a month, mostly catalogues, some charity. If there's a freepost envelope in anything I take their cover letter and write a note asking to be taken off the mailing list. This tends to work pretty well as far as I can tell.
I'm wary about giving out the phone details, and always opt for no contact if I do give it. The phone is always on automatic answering machine mode, so I don't know how many don't leave a message, but it's about one every three days that does (and it's mostly the same company). Not really any different from before I started comping.0 -
mainly cruise and holiday vouchers, occasionally food supplements but not too often reallyproud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0

I entered a comp for a cruise about 7 years ago, and every month since get a cruise brochure through my door (I'm quite mindful to always tick no further correspondence, so not sure how that slipped through the net)
...but with more and more people sending emails and going paperless - at least it keeps our posties in a job I guess!0 -
I give a mobile number I never answer. Mainly are PPI or money I have never had or spent. It goes also for text messages which I delete promptly and daily. Thanks to those who help us to win !
