I might just have got really lucky but 3/4 of my Openreach engineer visits have been really helpful.
We have a master socket in a stupid location by the front door without a power point, and the last engineer mentioned that he could maybe move it when he came to fix noise on the line. But as we already have a hidden wired extension going to the living room he fitted a whole new faceplate, removed the ring wire, and tested the internal wiring for us to check it was fine to run the router from the living room.
He even changed a setting on the landline phone we never use as we had the ringer turned off by accident not knowing what !!!8220;pulse!!!8221;was.
Above and beyond for a !!!8220;free!!!8221;visit I think.0
