And are judging their entitlement to use those disabled spaces in private car parks solely on the presence or not of a Blue Badge?0 -
Not only "shop poppers" but also long term abusers - I see the same cars (without badges) parked in the same disabled spaces for hours at a time on regular ocassions
Both problems need addressed, but it's easier to catch the shopper poppers, and to be fair the long term parkers are likely to be abusing the short term bays too so confiscating their permits in short term spaces will solve most of the problems.0 -
Some places, like Lincoln, have disabled places with a maximum stay of 3 hours in the city centre. This stops people "borrowing" a disabled badge and parking all day whilst at work. I know this goes on but it is so hard to police.0

I believe that historical orange cards were "personalised" for use in a certain vehicle - with the reg plate on the card - perhaps this is the way to go ?0 -
No it's not and this has clearly been explained why.
I take it that you are able bodied with no difficulty walking ?
If so - I really wish that you could experience other peoples attitude to those of us who rely on blue badges for parking as close as possible to our destination ....0 -
What's that go to do with my post, if anything, going on your earlier posts, it's you that has a poor attitude and understanding of people with disabilities!I take it that you are able bodied with no difficulty walking ?

With reference to my post I simply pointed out that it's already been clearly shown why assigning a badge to a specific vehicle will not work and will actually be detrimental for anyone that requires help with their mobility.0 -
Can we add people who park in supermarket pick up/drop off points to the list.
I take my parents shopping and if the disabled bays are full I will try and drop them off and find a "normal" space. Dropping off and then picking them up is made more difficult by the morons who park there and go in to do a quick shop
Why don’t you do that anyway and leave a space for a disabled driver?0 -
If I ammy parents out(they both have badges) I park in the disabled bays.AndyMc..... wrote: »Why don’t you do that anyway and leave a space for a disabled driver?
As they both have badges I can use the bay if I want to as it`s more convenient for them and neither one of them can walk far without struggling
Are you policing the blue badges as well?
Any other questions?0
