Aviva or direct line?

Hi,

I’ve received a quote from direct line and Aviva - they are both in a top 10 insurers list but there is £300 difference in the quotes - I know all insurers have bad reviews but Aviva seems more positive - is it worth paying the extra money - does anyone have experience of these companies? Thanks everyone

Are the policies the same, with the same coverage and excesses?

From experience, the Aviva motor claims call centre isn't based in the UK, whereas Direct Line is if that makes a difference to you.

Been with DL for years, check prices with other companies every year when I receive my renewal notice, if I can find cheaper anywhere always phone DL and they will match the quote to within a few pounds.

The only time I have had a claim it was dealt with quickly without any problems and satisfactorily.

Not sure about the call centre being abroad - when I called in December, the guy I spoke to was Scottish!

Check it's similar cover, if it is go with the one that's £300 cheaper!
