Unfortunately a lot of men still seem to think that women sit at home waiting for workmen to call when they feel like it. I had conversations along these lines 50 years ago, nothing much seems to have changed, but at least then they didn't have mobile phones to be total pratts over.

The problem with these people is they think everyone has nothing better to do than wait around for them.
My mum once famously ordered an item of furniture.
When discussing the delivery arrangements she asked for a courtesy call ten minutes before the delivery was due.
The girl refused saying that was not their policy. So my mum cancelled the order which was already paid for.
The girl could not understand why my mum eas cancelling!!

Hey ho.
We've had a lovely evening. Our neighbours down the hill invited us for dinner, so we walked down through the mud in the moonlight, had a lovely tea, I'd made a cake, we drank some wine and told stories about all the people around and about (we're both relative incomers but have met different people, so we're piecing everything together).
And then me and Mr Cheery waded back through the mud up the hill, still in the moonlight, rising out of the mist as we got higher up. Most lovely to look back down on the valley bathed in mist once we were back near home 😊😊😊
That's me done with work now too! I'm glad we had the cut off of going out for tea, because I would have easily carried on til 9pm, like I did last night, pottering about with things 🙄
Tomorrow - kitchen guy, dentist, booster jab, visiting friends for tea. Nice start to the hols! 😊😊 Oh, and Mr Cheery collected the fairy lights today so I might finally decorate the tree which has sat undecorated in the corner of the living room for over a week, shocking!8 -
Oh! And I REALLY need to go to the dentist now, as tonight I lost the back of the tooth I'd lost the front of a couple of weeks ago. Inevitable really, but that means I've got one on the left which is just a root canal filling, barely any tooth, and one on the right with a hole in 🙄 for goodness sake!6

Ouch! Hope you get it sorted.

I hope everything runs smoothly for you today.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Thank you both.
I ended upon the sofa at 5am because apparently I was 'breathing heavily' and attempting to keep myself quiet and still just wasn't helping me go back to sleep... 🙄
Anyway, dentist appointment booked for 3.40 - only time they had. I rang 44 times in the 5 minutes they opened before I got through 🙄 Apparently they can't treat the root canal tooth because it doesn't currently hurt so that will have to wait til the appointment I've got at the end of January anyway. Hopefully they can at least fill the one that has a big hole in it 🙄
Covid booster jab was booked for 5, but even I can see that dentist in Sheffield at 3.40, Buxton for jab at 5, then back to Sheffield for tea was going to be pushing things a bit... especially at that time of day. Booster jab rescheduled for Wednesday, and we'll just go to the dentist then hang about a bit, then see if friends are in a bit earlier.
What else to do today? We'll want to leave at 2 ish so we're not rushing, so no overambitious plans.
* ring kitchen geezer - is he coming today or not?? Can leave him a key since he's only bringing the plinths.
* payday today, so banks & YNAB
* tidy up! Mr Cheery has been dismantling the temporary kitchen, unpacking kitchen boxes, and generally just causing disarray everywhere so I want to restore a little bit of order at least
* get my clothes out of the bathroom
* bring duvet cover in off washing line and hang upstairs
* maybe paint a bit of the bedroom ceiling??
Neighbours last night said they'd got in touch with the power company who were sending them a cheque, so I might do the same rather than waiting. They were only out for 48 hours, so should only have got £70, but they've given them £100 as a courtesy. Let's see what they give us!

Well, I've done some of those things... washing is hung inside, clothes are out of the bathroom, and kitchen geezer has been, so plinths finally meet the bottom of the cupboards and all holes are packed. Hooray!!
New bras have arrived, and at least one fits (not tried the other, just left this one on) so I'm delighted!
Old ones returned to post office.
Off to the dentist now!5 -
Urgh. Temporary filling on the right, which should be fine, and another temporary filling over the top of the root canal filling, which I've been told not to eat on, and which likely won't last five minutes 🙄 But it was that or she said she could 'try to take it out very quickly, but it might break and then you might have to go to the hosiptal' 🙄 Clearly scaremongering because she didn't want to do it, and it did annoy me, but lying on my back with hands in my mouth I didn't feel like I could quibble 🙄
Hey ho. I've already got an hour long appointment on 19th Jan to deal with that tooth anyway, whatever it needs, so let's hope we just last another month.
Soup for Christmas Dinner then. At least I might finally lose a bit of weight! 🙄
In money news, at least they didn't charge me anything, because it's part of the ongoing treatment for that tooth (I didn't ask about the other one...)
And then we nipped into T3sc0 and got pizza and beer for our evening with pals, got £20 worth of stuff for £14 with the club card.
Urgh. Hoping I'll cheer up when I've eaten something, although obviously I'll just be nibbling on the middle of the pizza 🙄
Wildly early for our friends now, so we're going to drive past the walk in vaccination centre and see if I can get my booster jab. Then I can free up Wednesday, and the doctors can have another appointment for someone else.
