    :hello: Hiya!

I drink lots of tea too, and I always used to put too much in the kettle, and resisted the whole "put it in a vacuum flask" advice because I like my tea really hot. But then I realised that I could put the over flow in the thermos and then pour it back into the kettle to boil again - it still wastes less heat.

Then I learned not to overfill the kettle to quite the same degree :rotfl:
Cheery, I love the sound of the building work you're getting done, and moving the stove around, its going to be wonderful, I'll bet. Glad you've got a few days at home too, with you being the one to drive, instead of a rail journey, you can't even use your commute to do emails and whatnot.

    Anyway, long live radiators :j

Enjoy the radiators Cheery! I'm hoping to get the kitchen UFH and the utility room radiator connected soon. And the utility room door back on again...

    Central heating is under-appreciated!

Ventral heating certainly is underappreciated! I'm not that old (38) and didn't have it in our house til I was at least 11, possibly 13  Very much appreciate it!

Anyway, just enjoying a spot of late night, post-work plastering :j it's like the old days in the old house :rotfl: only plastering the bit that's going behind the radiator :o :rotfl:

Ooh, exciting news - wayleave cheque arrived! :j :j shane it didn't come yesterday - I've spent the whole of today about 2 mins walk from the bank :rotfl: but I think I can pay it in the post office so I'll do that tomorrow :j

I'm getting into the habit of only boiling enough water - not too bad here actually as we have an electric kettle - it was on the gas hob in the old house :rotfl:

Right, PVA coat is nicely sticky, best get mixing some plaster :j

Don't have much choice sadly - plumber is planning on attaching a radiator to that bit of wall on Thursday :rotfl: Of course if I had any sense I would have done it well before now... :o Or maybe delayed the plumber - but as we discussed earlier, it's cold :D :rotfl:

I'm literally just plastering the bit of wall behind the radiator :rotfl: It's really only going to be flat enough to attach the radiator to :o :rotfl:

    Morning MSE chums :hello:

Two radiators are up :j :j And the piping is prepared for the third, which has now been delivered, and the plumber is due this morning :j

Annoyingly we have three leaks now due to his shabby pipework so I shall be watching him like a hawk this morning

Not much else to report. We're spending a lot less now our favourite cafe has closed down :( Tried a new one at the weekend - it was too crowded to get a seat the first day so we just left, and the second day we got a seat, but were rapidly joined at our table by a pile of other people who couldn't get a seat elsewhere. Not exactly the 'relaxing reading' type of cafe experience we like to have on a weekend morning :o

    What to report MSE-wise?

    * I used my residents' national park parking permit twice yesterday! Not 'free' (I paid £25 for the year) but it's £3.80 for 4 hours I think so the more I use it the more I save :)

    * I've started checking where to get the cheapest diesel from. Not something I ever bothered with before, but given we've apparently spent an average of £167 a month this year, worth checking  M0rri3ons seems cheapest, and there's one in our local town, and also one not far from where I usually fill up the car in the week, so I'll be doing a small 2 min diversion each time and we'll see what we can knock off. I've applied for one of their loyalty cards too - we don't generally shop in there, but it should add up with fuel anyway.

    * I'm up to £15 something with Prolific and will try to get up to £20 for a payout this week - that can go towards the mortgage :money:

    * I've been more mindful about adding things to the YNAB app as I've spent them this week. Probably not caught everything, but better than nowt. Will reconcile everything tonight and see.

Er, not sure there's anything else. Got leftover lentil soup for lunch (and probably tea) today. Might make some kind of pasta bake thing tonight to take for work the next few days.

Not MSE related, but I really must clean the windows at some point :o The sun's shining this morning and they look right grubby! :o :rotfl:

But not right now - I'm working at home and haven't even started yet so best get a wriggle on!

...I'm working at home and haven't even started yet so best get a wriggle on!...

Working from home on a Monday is a great plan:j - no commute!!!:j - I like to stay in my PJ's until at least noon on WFH days:D

Grrr to plumber woes - how is your's with timelyness? - ours don't even own a watch let alone know what day of the week it is! :rotfl: we were very lucky earlier this month as the man is charge (pops plumber) who is 87 & VERY particular made sure his son & assistant took care & stayed tidy while completing our new boiler installation;)
