I've emailed my customer services pal with a photo
and asked her to arrange a refund and tell me what to do with these picture hooks. The delivery note has a phone number to ring to arrange collection but I'm doubtful if they'd ever turn up
Hoping she'll just tell me to keep the damn things and that will be the end of it!

In all the flurry over the staple gun, I forgot our other exciting deliveries!
First of all my new boots arrived, most exciting. Two pairs, one more casual, the other smarter. I'll definitely keep the casual ones, and I'm going to put a pair of insoles into the smart ones as they're slightly too roomy. If that's not enough, I might see if I can swap for a smaller pair.
The other thing was a box full of glass, which should have been a replacement cafetiere for the one we broke the other dayI've contacted the seller with photos...
Gosh, what a load of tedious admin!!
On the plus side my B&Q trip was fruitful. Staple gun of course, a clear visor for putting the ceiling insulation in - I've been battling with a combination of a mask and swimming gogglesAlso got a surform/rasp thing for smoothing the edges of the plasterboard and a couple of tape measures, since we seem to have lost all of ours except the broken one. Fun and games over the weekend!

I think tape measures live in packs. I either have none or loads... (TBH I think the trades who visit take them home with them. They're not averse to 'borrowing' stuff and forgetting it's not theirs).7

Good grief that's a lot of deliveries - it can make life *very* difficult, and you've certainly got that in spades right now. Your "staple gun" is at the peak of that, dear me ... although it's vying for first place with the pile of broken glass
Much fun, and many games, over the weekend - baited breath here
Oh, and PS - the tablets too! Glad you got hold of them.2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
'Staplegun gate' reminds me of an incident my Dad had with wall paper. Instore didn't have the amount he needed, so after speaking to customer service they said the best thing would be to order online...So he did. A couple of days later 7 rolls of paper arrived, on time so Dad was all prepped for the day ahead, only he had ordered 10 rolls...He rung 'the number' where quite rationally the adviser informed him that they only had 7 rolls in stock and not to worry as they'd already refunded him for the other 3, as the receipt clearly indicates...
"What am i supposed to do with 7 rolls?" enquired my Dad.
"They're a lovely pattern and a great choice!" exclaimed the adviser.
"Not when 3 tenths of the wall is bare" retorted Dad.
I'll let you all imagine the rest of the conversation, but my Dad is adamant that they thought he was totally unreasonable for wanting a full refund!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......11 -

Similarly we had 4 parcels waiting for Hermes collection, one on Wed and 3 on Fri. Never turned up on Wed, and when he came on Fri would only take the 3 on his list for the day. (He was also new to the route which he had taken on, on Wednesday, which gives a clue as to what had happened to our pickup.) DH contacted Hermes to find out what had happened to be told that the parcel had been scanned and collected. He then sent them a picture of the parcel sitting at his feet in our hallway... how they react to that we have yet to find out as they close early on a Friday...5

Goodness me, what a lot of parcel fiascsos!! No parcels here today, the snow is swirling round in a very picturesque way so I'm not sure even the postman will make it. Wish we'd bought more than 4 pints of milk yesterday now!6
