There should be a screw to secure it into the pump, is it there?
Hi,
I thought you meant the screw on the filter itself. But after watching several YouTube videos, I just noticed there are two screws either side of it on the machine, so I will investigate further, later or tomorrow.
But for now I have to do Mother's Day duties!

It is not a fluff filter though some may attach to it, it is actually the pump cover it stops larger items like coins, buttons or bra wires
getting through to the pump and jamming it, if you look inside the hole it fits into you should be able to see the vanes of the pump and check it is free to turn.
Just replace the rubber seal, possibly spray with silicone lubricant and refit making sure it is tight.0 -
Thanks, I just watched that video. Mine doesn't have a drain hose. I suppose trying to shove one in will be futile, as I won't be able to attach it to the pump from the outside.0

(in fact I've never seen one!)

Before you rush out and buy a new o-ring,the black thing on the white plastic filter opening, take the o-ring off and turn it around, usually works.0
