But it is a no. He clearly says !!!8216;Unfortunately we do not have any suitable openings at the current time!!!8216; and !!!8216;We really don!!!8217;t have any positions at the moment!!!8217;. You asked whether they have any positions, they don!!!8217;t. It!!!8217;s possible they might in the future in which case they will contact you.
Does it help if you think of it as a !!!8216;no, not now!!!8217; answer?
My advice would be to leave it. You made an impression of someone who is organised and determined, Steve will remember you if a position comes up. There is no need to contact him again, doing so might make him reclassify you as a nuisance and move you into the not suitable box.
If you read the update, you will see how prophetic your response actually was. Thanks!0 -
At the risk of re-opening Pandora's box to post this update from last Wed
Hi Sophia. Are you around on 19 April to come into our xyzzzzz for an interview?
Best Steve

Best Sophia
His operations team phoned me to schedule it

He's intrigued by her research and wants to know what she's discovered!
Or they need a cleaner?
(Nothing wrong with being a cleaner, but I expect the OP would find it beneath them.)0 -
One of these statements is true:
Steve has asked Sophia to go to an interview
Last week my daughter had her pizza stolen by a monkey *
* I have photographic evidence of said thief0 -
It's probably to serve the OP with an injunction!0

Seems plausible to me - new financial year, new budgets released etc...
However, I just hope is that the OP is mindful that there are processes to be followed and doesn't react badly if they take a bit of time to come to a decision after the interview!0 -

Sorry, just been catching up and having a good laugh at this old thread.
Southampton; mush is a very local usage that doesn't even extend as far as Portsmouth (as if it would).:-)
My own accent is very neutral due to an expat childhood, but I can do a number of Italian accents. They differ amazingly.0
