The bloke who lives opposite me is a total idiot about the spaces outside his house (no drive) is family have three cars and the space outside his house is only enough for one, there is also a shop a few doors down.

He's always telling people off or blocking them in for parking on the public road outside his house.

The funniest part is they dont care where the other 2 cars are parked!

Parking wars are one of those things that just don't get me worked up. If someone parks outside of my house, I really don't care (unless they block my drive). However, my former fiancee lived in a household with about 5 cars, and their neighbours had a few cars and very quickly that fell into a big saga over who could park where.

All very tit for tat. "You can't park here, you're over my side of the line", "why should I go out and move my car so you can park yours there". Then there was people putting cones on the road etc, and putting their green bin right on the pavement so it was not possible to mount the curb. Worst thing that happened was my car got booted by one of the neighbours.

Life is far too short to get wound up about things like this. So long as it's not affecting your day to day life, live and let live.

If it is genuinely affecting you (i.e. they're parking partially across your drive, making it hard to leave), I would say the best thing to do is go and speak to them peacefully and just ask them if they could check that they're not blocking the drive. Not everything has to turn out into a big war and an episode of Neighbours from Hell.
