Solar panels

A company has offered to buy my mums solar panels,(about 1/2 of what she paid for them) she will still get her cheaper electric and be payed for the energy she produces . So effectively she has another 18 years on her FIT contract but the warranty is only for another 6 so if she sells them now they will then take over the maintenance?
Anyone know anything about this and if it is safe to do so?

Welcome to the forum.
What do you mean by 'paid for the energy she produces'? The company will get the FIT.
I suggest you post again in the 'Green and Ethical' section of this forum.
There are a lot of posts on this subject and these 'buy back' schemes are rightly slated - they in effect are retrospective 'Rent a Roof' schemes.
I would advise to stay well away.0
