OP of £4.51 this morning. Slow and steady!
My wages should be paid in later this morning, but I’ve moved £100 into our “house stuff” account while I wait. Have a local company coming on Monday to give us a quote for the living room / bedroom carpets. As far as stuff we can afford goes carpets are top of the list for me, can already feel the front of the house being colder than the rest in the mornings.
Following yesterday’s post - guess who needs to go into town this morning?I have a list of what I need to pick up (not very long, literally 2 things) and I’m going to get £10 out of the bank to cover it and that’s that. Also need to go to the bank for some change bags. Time to organise our change for our little break!

I’m so happy this morning, our daily interest is under the £10 bracket :j also with my OP it means that our balance is still under £120k :j Honestly I feel so motivated by this. £2 TT sent.
No major plans today, going to go look at carpet options and do some gardening. Our BiL who’s an electrician is coming over tomorrow to change our 3 hall light fittings so we just need to find the pendants we bought earlier in the year, and pick up some vegetarian sausages while we’re in town as I promised dinner for his help and bangers and mash seems like the easiest meal to make for veggies and meat eaters.
Kind of failed at my challenge yesterday, only one shop had LO’s vitamins and they were either £5.49 a box of 3-4-2 so I decided to get the offer, also spied a 1960s edition of One Fish, Two Fish walking through the market so parted with £3 for that. Today is the start of my no spend September so we’ll see how I get on!
Also counted and bagged up what we could of our change jar last night. Decided 1p’s, 5p’s, 50p’s and £2’s are the least helpful at the seaside so we’ll be changing those. We have saved almost £400 :money: love a good change jar!
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend0 -
I found tracking the daily interest motivating, imagine the !!!!!!s getting £10.00 a day from us? outrageous. Excellent change jar there, £400 is very good indeed. I save all of mine and divvy it up with my nieces and nephew for their Christmas present on Christmas Eve - they do very well some years, not so well others but I only save £1 & £2 coins.0
