It can't make its mind up here - does so dark we need the lights on, snows so the heating clicks on and then blindingly sunny al in the space of 30 minutes. Rinse and repeat! Hope it brightens up your way on :)

This is us. Horizontal blizzard to beautiful, but cold, crisp spring day. Bonkers.

Must apologise for all the typos in my last post. I don't normally update on my phone but I was trapped under a snoozing toddler!

Woke up to a blanket of the stuff this morning, pup is very happy and has been chasing a tennis ball that's been slowly gathering more snow around the patio since I got up. Waiting for the sun to hopefully appear and melt some snow a little before I brave going for a walk.

Had £38 paid from quidco yesterday, so requested payment into the bank. Will update the signature when it lands.

Bonus of being snowed in is the house is lovely and tidy, DH is actually counting down the time until is acceptable to get the hoover out on a Sunday. Which is 10am in our books! We refixed a skirting board in the dining room last night that DH and LO knocked off the wall when they were playing a few weeks ago. We've also got things ready to patch up a hole under the bay window in the living room, and 2 new light fittings for the hallway. Made the great mistake of peeking behind the wallpaper on the landing and have added "strip landing wallpaper" to our DIY list. Hopefully I can talk DH into pulling the carpet on the stairs up too as I might have had a peek at those last weekend and they are stunning!

Hope everyone has a nice snowy Sunday!

    Morning!

Feel incredibly low energy today, LO has taken to 5am wake ups and it's just too much! I do get up early to walk the dog, straighten the house etc but it feels a little indulgent when it's quiet and I have the luxury of moving slowly - trying to do all that with a wild toddler is exhausting. I'm ready for bed.

Still, returned a book yesterday so that'll be an £8 refund when the money clears. Set some yeast to "brew" ready to make cinnamon craisin loaves with LO when I get home. I did start enough yeast for two loaves (one for home, one for my parents) however my Mum has declared shes going back to SW so I've got an extra loaf to find a home for - a home that's hopefully not my belly. Also taken some chicken from the freezer for tea, so it's roast chicken with veggies and spuds for me and LO.

Do need to swing by the shops on the way home for a few bits, we have £30.50 left of the money we took out on Friday and typically spend very little through my 3 week days (spender? me?) so should have some to put in our faux terramundi come Friday. We're saving this up for our little seaside getaway in September, so whatever is in there by then is our spending budget. Will be opening it the weekend before we go and either greatly regretting the challenge, or patting ourselves on the back while we picture ourselves neck deep in doughnuts and icecream.

I think that the tearing up of carpets on stairs and halls is the best part of renovating an old house, I can hardly describe the joy of pulling up the hideous carpet in my hall and finding Minton tiles. Hoping to get some washing out today, this winter may well have convinced me I need a dryer - far too much damp washing draped all over the house.

I'm hoping we can restore the place to some of it's former glory. Find Minton tiles in the hallway is a dream! We do have some in the porch actually, so it's a possibility. Our current side goal is to have sash windows fitted, we've accidentally become those annoying restoration decorators :o

Speaking of, I'm hopefully going to a local history drop in at the library within the next month or so. Our house is the only one on our street with a name etched into the bay window but I can't find anything in the records we have or the 1911 cenus to give us a clue as to why, so I'm hoping some local eggheads on the subject can shed some light. It's not

£10 cashback from the bank this morning, along with £co and some refunds so I've updated the signature as it's bumped us over the £6900 mark :T With our regular savings alone next month we should have enough saved to clear the loan in April - get working towards our mortgage OP in May  DH still isn't sold on the MFi5 idea but I figure if I just do it anyways he'll get on board in the end

    Thanks Beanie :)

Having a lovely weekend so far. My Sister and BIL looked after LO yesterday while DH and I went out for a meal which they paid for as a joint birthday gift. Plan for today is to go to the local children's theme park (? Don't really know what to call it, it has a couple kids but it's mostly "themed" play parks - fairytale, zoo, western etc) to use our birthday money to get two annual passes. It's only a 10 minute drive, with two big indoor soft play areas so it's a good thing to have for "free" days out in any weather.

Not managed to balance the banking yet. DH bought me a birthday gift and it's not my birthday until tomorrow so I can't look and spoil the surprise. The one downside of a joint bank account is keeping gifts a surprise! But it is pushing me to shop locally with cash, which is a silver lining. Still unsure what we're doing tomorrow for my birthday, DH has taken the day off work so I feel pressure to come up with plans worth using a holiday-day up for. But there are a lot of places we can go to eat where my meal is free so I think we'll be able to keep it very MSE.

Added about £35 to the savings pot though, I know that much. My Grandparents emptied their change pot and gave the contents to put in LO's savings, so we counted it out before putting it in our change pot and transferred the amount into savings for him.

Currently waiting for DH to come home so we can go get the passes. He went to do the big shop, always enjoy not having to do it but he's a very grab-happy shopper so slightly dreading finding out what he'll bring home despite having a list. Reminded him we're on a budget so to not go too wild - we'll see!
