Panasonic TX40EX700B got good reviews but others says they had issues with sound quality. I'd rather go for the latest LG models and planning to get a sound bar to boost sound. If you like quality sound don't expect your TV is gonna give that to you unless you have separate audio speakers.

Lower end LG picture quality isn't as good as the Samsungs, its "average" although the smart TV functionality is streets ahead in LG's WebOS.

I've just bought the SamsungUE40MU6120K from Richer Sounds £349 with 6 yr guarantee. Great picture and excellent sound. Remote control could be better (lacks logic). I studied Which? magazine before buying. (Anyone can try Which?magazine for £1 for a month- well worth it for large purchases)

I just nip down to the local library and look at the 'Which?' mags there. I photocopy any pages relevant.

I bought a recommended microwave that way recently, after nearly buying a model that Which? found to be poor.

Very happy with the microwave - oh and I'm also happy with my, rather old now, Panasonic smart TV (and Canton sound base).
