Well, I don't know about your area but we get menus posted every week from every takeaway within a 10 mile radius.

Yes but it is more convenient to have them all available in one app

You do realise that just eat takes 20% of the order off for their fee already?!

In certain areas I have noticed smaller online companies popping up and the ones I used Just Eat for when travelling all text me saying they stopped using Just Eat because of the fees and now offer 10-20% off ordering with another company, sometimes even with free delivery (that used to be up to £2) none charge service charge.

Sadly in my town only 3 take aways use these smaller firms

Just Eat can't be doing badly for themselves considering they bought out their major competitor!

Every take away I have seen use Just Eat over the years has raised prices and lowered portions even common to see takeaways give smaller portions to Just Eat customers, one even in past rang me direct and said cancel just eat order and they will give me it £2 cheaper and give me free bottle of drink!

It may surprise you to know that JE charges some lower volume businesses as much as 33%.

JE suits some businesses in remote locations or with high competition and allows customers to access them. However, I would caution that most JE businesses are those that are poor to average. You won't find a decent takeaway on JE that turns over £10k (a few cities excepted) on a Saturday night because there is no business sense in giving away £2-3k to a middleman. You may as well pay for your own website and app.

    This is my local(ish) Indian,

Lime Pickle, voted best takeaway in the UK.

    On Just Eat.

And their nearest rival (which we prefer)

    http://www.chutneyexpressindian.co.uk/

    Also on Just Eat.

Both always busy in the shop but JE is obviously worth their while for an added revenue stream.

Also the fact one app can give you access to well over a hundred takeaways and menu's is very convenient!

The reason I like Just Eat is because I don't have to talk to a person. If my takeaways od choice had an online ordering system I'd use that instead.

Perhaps you need to consider what is an appropriate portion size, if you consider McDonalds portion sizes to be kids size!

Blah blah blah, kids size as in its not king size and the takeaways advertise it as a LARGE portion.

I mean a portion of chips smaller than my fists that costs £1.50 on top is hardly nothing!
