Hi all, I'm turning 40 in 2 days time but still reading up pros and cons to decide which S&S LISA provider I should go for.

Can I open a LISA with either Nutmeg/MoneyBox (whose transfer fee is zero) or Skipton(cash LISA) now, pay the money before 40th birthday, and transfer to my desire provider when I am able to make the decision in few weeks time?

If it's possible, do I have to do it within the same tax year?

Thanks.

It doesn’t really matter. Just open one in the next 24 hours.

You can open/transfer as you wish later – but once you hit 40 its too late.

Skipton’s lifetime cash isa can be opened online and you can invest immediately with a debit card. You can open a different lifetime isa e.g. stocks and shares from 6 April.

Skipton accept a £1 initial deposit with no transfer out fee - as above just do it quickly to keep your options open.
