Pleased that you liked it. I'm a visual learner and if you're anything like me Youtube is the place to go. I find a list of instructions just swirl around the page and much prefer to watch someone actually making the thing I want to make.
I'm a fairly experienced sewer and I've never heard of banding fabric either. I might look it up.
Edit - apparently it's something to do with how you finish your edges. Maybe.
For a beginner I'm sure that there are simpler ways to make a Roman blind. Other than a poke in the eye of course.0
