After the war and during the baby boom houses were in short supply. The west end such as Tudor Road existed but Eyres Monsell some of Glen Parva, Beaumont Leys and stocking farm werent built then
They were put up to to house growing families and were done with this laing easy structure
Like I said our 1st house was on the EME Glen Parva boarder and we did have problems but being upfron with a IFA means you shouldnt have any probs as they will know who will lend of such houses
You can ring the council or pop into the hosing place In town and they helped me
