Also as you are pretty sure as to the departure time you can demand the ANPR footage under DPA Subject Access

They may charge you a tenner for the privilege

But this will prove the vehicle leaving at about 3.30 and will leave them wide open to compo under DPA

You will have the financial damage if they charge you & all the distress

Don't forget after 25th May all subject access requests are free but you can't make multiple requests against the same company

    That's no more than 2 snapshots - 1 x In, 1 x Out. There's no CCTV/movie content with an ANPR camera.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences.

, Smart and a smaller company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (who take hundreds of these cases to court, and nearly always lose), who have also been reported to the regulatory authority.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind most of these companies may well be put out of business by Christmas.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • Last night I went to Morrison to complain to the manager how disgusted I was about the parking charge notice.
He was a very sensible bloke, more than PE, and understood I could not have parked for 21hrs so he immediately logged into his computer and cancelled the parking charge.
I am awaiting confirmation from PE, if it comes, that this pointless parking charge is no more but for now it seems the issue is resolved amicably.
I would like to thank everyone for their input, without which I would not have been able to take on these monsters

Glad that Ms sorted it out for you. As the manager quickly realised, parking for 21 hours would generally be a nonsense - as PE should have realised before sending out the NtK - surely the have reporting functions within their systems which highlight 'unusual' parking episodes for them to check manually before pursuing?

Now, do please write a letter to your MP, explaining how you have been harassed by a rapacious parking company, devoid of any due diligence in attempting to snatch £100 from you for an alleged 'offence' that never ever happened. Ask him/her to support the Sir Greg Knight Bill, as per The Deep's post above.

This is good to hear and very interesting that the manager
can cancel from his computer ?

The one thing the manager will never know is just how
customers never return to Morrisons because of the scam
