2019 Wedding

Hello,
I'm joining after paying the deposit for the venue!
7th November 2019 for us - getting married in West Sussex where we live. Our families are all over the place so it made sense to get married where we were rather than using a "family" place.
The budget we've got is quite a lot but!! we are saving it all ourself and I'm keeping a tight grip on the money with my little spreadsheet.
I also think we've having quite a large wedding (50 ceramony plus 40 evening guests) but I really want a nice party with all our friends and family!
Bought my dress from Wed2B - will be getting it altered nearer the time.
Venue is an all in one place with their own caterers so that's one less thing to sort.
It will be here before we know it!!0 -
Hi BeckyAP & welcome to the thread!0

Welcome, BeckyAP!
good progress girl!
We're now sticking to our original plan of booking the community hallf or £475,
my F.H said it sounds nicer to split it over 2 days.
so plan is ,
Friday 2pm-3.15 (estimated, all the info i got was 2.45pm you take your vows and say I Do , as we haven't given notice yet) . We get married.
then we go for a quite meal with family.
Saturday,
We have a big party .
I'm toying with an idea of creating laminate paper so they are waterproof with something like "please don't take my drink, I'm Dancing". Was going to order online but the prices are too expensive since there's 75+ people invited / will be . And also , they can keep it or if they didn't , money hasn't been wasted.
Stuck on what to do now though.
Can't give notice ;
i've asked my mum to find her birth certificate like twice now so then I can ask my future hubbys mum for hers, but my mum just says "I don't know where it is" or "i'll look for it later" so now I'm waiting for my next pay to get my online passport. Do youhave to pay extra if it's 'lost' (my parents had my passport as I've only needed it when i was 7 years old) and she's not looked for that either. So I'm at a lost.:heartpuls Getting married 21.09.19 :heartpuls

Thanks for the welcome!
Apricity - there's no difference in cost between renewal or replacement but it's nearly £10 cheaper to do it online rather than using a paper form.
Why do you think people would want those "don't take my drink cards"? Surely people would know to leave half full glasses?? Or am I missing something?0 -
Hi Becky, welcome
I've added you to the first post
We haven't done anything wedding related for a couple of weeks now.
The next thing to do is email the rugby club, which we will do either this evening or tomorrow.

Becky, we're hiring a mobile bar and they are staffed, wouldn't want their drinks to be taken away as they are paying for them . My family likes to get up and dance whilst leaving half pints ... and they get annoyed when they are taken accidentally.
And I don't really have anything to give to commemorate... not doing favors as such.
Thank you for the information of the passport situation I will get that sorted ASAP and will have to nag the F.H:heartpuls Getting married 21.09.19 :heartpuls

Hi everyone
Little update
I sent the email to the rugby club and have had a reply, we've been expecting the chef to email us but so far he hasn't, I've sent another email today.
Photographer sorted out. I spoke to him on Friday.
Also spoken to my cake lady, she's asked us to find some pictures of cakes we like. We've discussed what flavour cake we like. So our idea is three tiers, chocolate, lemon and Bakewell/jam sponge. We need to think about how many we will be serving it to. When do we cut the cake? Was thinking of serving it as pudding with our meal. Ooh that's thrown up a whole load of questions!
Going to have a play with the invitations this week, H2B picked one of the samples I had made a couple of months ago, so I'll add all the new details and get that underway.
H2B has said he will talk to the girls after Christmas, which was my suggestion really, they are all getting on at the moment, so we don't want to rock the boat too much. As they are still growing we'll be able to sort outfits next year for them, so not too much of a worry.
Wondering what else we need to do at the moment?

Wow! Good progress!
We actually haven't done a lot at all.
I was researching more ways to include Star Wars into our day and have loads of cool ideas.
Tonight we are going to look at the 3 photographers I've picked out,
One has agreed to do 25% of the deposit for this month and next month as no one has booked the date but I need the F.H to look at all 3 and make a choice.
I'd like to get our notice done in the next 3 months - have to wait until past 20th September to do so, as they only do a it a year or less in advance.
I don't really know where to go from here now.
The next things after are to visit the reception hall we want and book that.
Um I guess maybe compile your guest list, sort table arrangements even as a draft,
research decor ideas?:heartpuls Getting married 21.09.19 :heartpuls

I've purchased a new dress.... A WHITE ONE!!
but this time i'm keeping it secret from the f.h
Last one in the sale and in size 16 (im usually a 14, but in Quiz, 16 fits snug)
and was only £40 ... I just hope it fits like i want it to . other wise i'll be sticking to my blue dress.
this weekend we are going to choose 1 of the 2 photographers we have short listed.
next thursday would mark 1 year:heartpuls Getting married 21.09.19 :heartpuls
