Hi
I've been AWOL for a bit as I've been back to work the last couple of weeks :T got another hospital appointment on the 5th to see what the MRI scan showed. I'm almost symptom free which is great
Not much done in wedding planning at the moment; except I've decided not to get the shoes I was originally planning, for a couple of reasons including they'd make me taller than H2B and after my sciatica issue I think think I'd be better with a lower heel any way, so I've been looking for some blue kitten heels.
It took me a while to work out what the STDs were too :rotfl:
Glad you were able to sort out the issue with your MIL Financialwizard, I'm of the opinion that it's your wedding so it's up to you what you want!
It's nice to be able to make your own bits and pieces for your wedding Elle, we are doing similar although not sure we will be doing STDs (:rotfl:)

Sorry for the confusion guys.
I've moved £70 from Wedding into my emergency savings as I'd like to feel like I've got some financial security as well as having a beautiful wedding. It doesn't push us back too much.
Not done too much planning as We've been busy with work & looking for a car for him.
I've been looking at some ideas but not anything to report back on.
I was torn between saying to my F.H that instead of the wedding, I learn to drive but then I'm like, we have a car for both of us and I don't really need on just yet now one of us drives. Get the wedding over with then I can be more 'free' mentally and physically to driveWedding Fund: £1107.23 / £2,500 Xmas'18: £100.00 / £300.00 Emergency Fund: £100.00 / £1,000H2B ISA: £30.500 -
Not been a great weekend tbh. I am absolutely exhausted and slept for an hour Saturday and Sunday. Will be glad when my meds are working properly.
Good news is that my daughter is able to come to the wedding. She is soooo excited by it. Only 91 days now ... soooo excited.Mtg Balance £147,000 : Savings £7,000 / £10,000

FW - it is your wedding and whatever you want you get to make happen. So if you both want to walk down the aisle together then go for it!
I get married in 2020 but i'm always lurking on this board. Im attending a wedding fayre tonight so hopefully i get some ideas and inspiration!0 -
:heart2: I think it's a lovely idea Financialwizard :heart2: you've mentioned it before and I may steal your idea x
As we are on pause on planning at the moment I've taken the chance to talk to the lady that I know at the venue we had in mind, I know her personally too. She doesn't work there anymore and said that it's going downhill and there's no chef at the moment  H2B says not to worry about it as we've easily got a year to go and they may have it sorted by then!new challenge?£1 a day for Christmas 2024 £367 / £366 ~Got married 24/05/19 ~ Credit CardDFW Nerd #1155 ~LBM 25/2/09 ~ Debt at highest £8,037.35 ~ £00 -
Yes, don't panic. I'd definitely be looking at other options though.
Found somewhere to take the dress that I no longer want and they are going to sell it for me albeit for a commission amount (well I take it tomorrow, so hopefully they'll take it). I just want it out of my way now.
On a completely unrelated point the non vpl undies that I bought are not non vpl. Might have to go commando!!!! Long, tight dress that definitely is not going to blow up. It'll be alright won't it?Mtg Balance £147,000 : Savings £7,000 / £10,000

other options is a good idea!
Oh thats good, FW at least you'll get some of it back .
It should be okay... how many people are gonna look at your butt?!
:lol
I've managed to stash away £200 this month into my wedding fund,
Making it a total of £1,107 . It was a lot more but decided i wanted to start saving my emergency fund & for a new home (even though its not a lot) .
I've been doing a little wedding planning but I've sort of stopped. We haven't spoke about the wedding for like 4 weeks now and I feel a bit deflated. Plus, not been well still so don't have the energy.
I pretty much accidentally wrote my vows last night - today is our 2 year anniversary of being together & wrote a long facebook post, but my Nan said i could use some of it for vows... so i'm slowly piecing that together.
I was also messing around by creating our own wedding website on wix.
But yeah not much wed-min for me at the minute.Wedding Fund: £1107.23 / £2,500 Xmas'18: £100.00 / £300.00 Emergency Fund: £100.00 / £1,000H2B ISA: £30.500 -
Oooh I like that Charley. We are not doing our own vows, don't want to have to say any more than the legal stuff. Concerned about not being able to stand that long.
Been asked what we want for wedding gifts, but we feel awkward answering as we don't need anything. Might ask for a nice photo frame or a donation to meningitis now.Mtg Balance £147,000 : Savings £7,000 / £10,000

Makes sense. I'm trying to keep it short and sweet but with everything i want to say. I'll probaly just faint under the pressaure of reading in front of everyone!! I can't be arsed to stand too long either. He can't really due to his back problems .
That sounds lovely - i had similar convo with an auntie about a wedding gift (was brought up in a different convo that led to this) and she said We could ask for money to go towards a new house.
but i feel cheeky to do so.
My f.h yesterday asked to postpone the wedding but we had a extremely heated argument. When things cooled down , he did admit he was thinking about it for a short while as things that's been happening in my work has caused me to be relaly stressed and snappy but once i poured my heart out and we spoke of issues , he said sorry and still wanted to marry me.
He suggested we can go to the local pub with my wedding planner and discuss some things ,
together , for real & offically. But i'm not getting hopes up. I wish it would be nice to have him on board too. He is a little on board but so many important budget-changing sorta stuff that i need to ask what he wants to do.
anyway , i'm off now to watch footie!Wedding Fund: £1107.23 / £2,500 Xmas'18: £100.00 / £300.00 Emergency Fund: £100.00 / £1,000H2B ISA: £30.500
