No point. Idiotic responses have become the norm for MSE.

I'm not sure if this is the right area, I'd searched for a more relevant forum repeatedly but couldn't find one so I guess i'll have a quick vent here. A relative of mine has been openly (I say openly, that's probably not accurate, many don't know of his ways but many do locally, so it's probably an equal split) - he's 27 and started dealing cocaine 2 years ago, at the time (as far as i'm aware) he started dealing to fund his own habit, i.e he would use the profit he made by selling onto others, last summer he quit his habit (how, i aren't sure) but since then in the space of 8 months since June 2017 has bought a brand new (ex-demo) Audi RS3 at a cost of almost £40,000 (no finance), a house at a cost of £96,000 (no mortgage) and many MANY other boys toys, yet not worked a day in his life for years, this individual now has 3 young men driving around dealing cocaine for him, and has somehow in the space of less than 9 months gone from having nothing to having more money than he knows what to do with, the last time I saw him he opened his glovebox to reveal nothing short of it being stacked full of notes, he told me it was £22,000 which I have no reason to doubt. Now, I'm very much of the "live and let live" ethos, whether that's right or not, and knew about his dealings and never had much to do with him, that was until I found out he was dealing to his customers with his 9 month old baby in the car because (as one of his customers quoted - it raises less suspicion) - that was the moment my blood boiled and I decided relative or not, it was beyond wrong. I have reported him now anonmyously, full details, address, vehicle, areas, and beyond detailed information, more than 5 times, spanning back to last summer 2017, and still to this date nothing, he's swanning around ruining lives with an innnocant baby in a car full of drugs, I'm writing this now as i'e just written a final report to my local police stating that's now the 6th report, and if nothing is done i'll be going to my MP and further if needed. What good is the ability to report these sorts of crimes anonymously if absolutely nothing is ever done about them anyway? I feel no guilt whatsoever given the circumstances, but it goes to show, how many people across the country are repeatedly reporting this kind of information and nothing being done, why am I working my nuts off every month to earn £2.5k when scum like my relative is doing that in a day or two, and able to go buying £40/£50k cars with no finance, as much as I know our country has many issues I would have thought when pages upon pages of information have been submitted over months and years, something would be done, i'm shocked and appalled in equal measure.

Why report anonymously? Why not go on the record if you feel so strongly about this?
  • Why the need to go "on the record" when crimes can be reported anonymously and thus avoiding the inevitable fall out of the consequences? If the ability to report crimes anonymously exists, which it does, in numerous forms, why are the crimes that are being reported anonymously through said channels not being followed up on?

Absolutely zero benefit or reasoning to reporting crimes via witness statement, I have a family to consider, does that mean that because I don't want to divulge that it's me giving this information that I'm in the wrong for doing so?

Ridiculous response quite frankly, and only goes to emphasise the number of obtuse individuals on this forum that look at every post as an opportunity to be be contradictory at every opportunity. Should I suggest then that you seem to agree with his dealings seeing as you don't think it's appropriate to report crimes anonymously?

Unfortunately, many crimes go unpunished precisely because the Police will not take the time to investigate.

I'd imagine the police are not taking it seriously as there's a fair amount of exaggerating going on.

The idea that a house can be purchased using cash that can't be accounted for is highly unlikely. There are very strict rules around money laundering that would prevent an amateur like your relative doing this.

He's having you on. Maybe it makes him feel like the big man.

    Put your hands up.
  • The cash he makes is put through his business account doing alloy wheel refurbishment, the fact is however that he hasn't ever done a single alloy wheel nor (by his own admission) would he know how to, the van he has and livery is all fiction, no-where is his business advertised. He has an accountancy firm as any legitimate business would and takes dividends from the "business" - I can assure you with absolute certainty, I've seen both the receipt/invoice for the car that was paid in full via bank transfer to Audi in Bradford (over £40k) - and the house I have seen that the title deeds are in his posession and he openly states how he paid just short of £100k for the property prior to renovations. No, he isn't having me on at all, in the space of less than 12 months he has more money than he knows what to do with, at christmas he went and purchased a brand new Raptor Quad Bike at a cost of close to £10,000 in cash, he has just recently put a £50k deposit on a villa in Cyprus via Bank of Cyprus (Seen all the docs) - A fair amount of exaggerating? lol - This is a guy of not 30 year old yet, driving a car people could only dream of, numerous properties, a seemingly never ending amount of disposable cash, and he's "having me on" and i'm "exaggerating"? - If that's your opinion absolutely fine :)
  • Oh, and he also pays a local graphic designer £250 per month to create false invoices and receipts for his "alloy wheel refurbishment" business to account for the cash crediting that business account, i appreciate it may sound far fetched but I see him every day and can assure you, everything i've stated is absolute fact.

How do you know the police aren't doing anything? I doubt they pay courtesy calls to inform dealers that they're under investigation. It takes time to bring down a drug gang, they're not going to arrest one mid level guy on one person's tip off.

Although I too have reservations about this thread.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

As I thought - you're motivated by jealousy, and not for fear for the baby or anything of the sort.

    Good grief!

Although you may think the police are doing nothing I doubt that this is the case.
IME the police need evidence to do anything and they are just waiting for the opportunity. If you are serious, you need to provide them with enough information to get their evidence.
