Still, aside from my credit file I would like to know what is likely to happen if I simply don't pay.
for until Monday, when you speak to them again, try to not be too stressed over it, fingers crossed- that will be it.
As it comes to bailiff, trust me actual real costs are way higher than £60. I had to use one to recover and Court costs where £110 and additional £55, just to have bailiff service only to get law binding promise, to get my money paid (several thousands of pounds and two months later I had it), but one thing for sure, if whoever is pretending to be bailiff- that is most likely scenario, as they need actual court order- enforcement notice in a first place.
Sounds like racketeering- scarring tactic, what they are using against you0 -

Please read what had been written before offering bad advice, @throwaway has said it is not a racket or scam, he has confirmed the arrears with ID Mobile.Throwaway185729 wrote: »I checked my account on their website and it says I need to pay £60 to come out of collections, so it seems legit.
My confusion on this point is why I'm being given the option to pay directly through my ID account if they've given the debt to a credit agency. If I pay through one way will they both leave me alone?====0 -
Honestly try to resolve it with ID centre in IrelandThrowaway185729 wrote: »The debt collectors and credit file don't concern me to be completely honest. But I don't know what the CCJ entails. How likely is it to come to that and how much would the money I have to pay increase if at all? I don't want to be in a situation where £60 turns into something far more substantial.
And if I were to pay, should it be to Lucas Credit Services or ID directly? It's Lucas Credit Services that's sending the email.
If reported lost SIM have not been replaced, that is very good argument to insist, you have implied cancellation... but it seems you did not... not good!
as it comes to Court orders, you like it or not- they are of ability to enforce the Judgement (County Court Judgement- CCJ),
to NOT end up with one, you might try to attending the hearing yourself, explaining implied cancellation, but it is truly tricky and dangerous way to go about the things.
Costs will rise significantly, perhaps even more, considering other issues, they might pile on, as additional representation in Court etc.
Minimum increase on a top of that £60 is + £165 of Court Bailiff Enforcement Order costs... thus is for one visit...
My advice is to argue the hell with ID to have their claim quashed, even, for example, offer payment for one month as a gesture of good will, but DO NOT leave it open for them to maul you.0 -

Could you back up your statements with links to show where in English law this defence of "implied cancellation" comes from?====0 -
It's probably worth a letter to iD Mobile explaining the phone was stolen and she never received a replacement sim to continue service.
The requirement for a formal cancellation is a valid but she clearly couldn't have had service with no replacement sim.
They may waive some of the bill and more importantly may be willing to remove the default. She'll also have the option of going to the ombudsmen after this point. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
