    Yea, I was going to post that as well... Like the first bit made sense, right up to "At best when your colleagues are served notice...." where it all just went into a blur!
    However there's no fear" about it. They are not asking whether they should leave. They are asking whether they have any right to force the employer to let them do what they want. They don't. If the employer don't like anything about them or their behaviour they can simply stop offering work. Even if they don't like the colour of their hat; let alone if they insist on turning up late.

    Yep, I agree. You weren't stoking fear; you were speaking the truth. The bottom line is that, if you mess them around too much, they won't give you any more hours.
  • When you say contracted do you mean full-time? Or contracted in the sense of self employed?

    IT is a very big mistake to start looking at what others do, fairness and perceived dscriminations.

    It is only of interest if it stops you doing your job.

    If there has never been a time set why not just say that, ask what would be a good time, discuss the issue of a key holder turning up before then etc.
