I thought that Fuji cameras took xd cards - at least my old fuji camera did, and so does my olympus. Different brands take different types of cards.
  • SD Memory Card is not compatible, you need an XD card. Basically XD is Fujifilm's card format, and is pretty much exclusively compatible with Fuji. Best bet is to take the card back and swap it for xD.

Some of them take other cards as well - the F480 also takes SD, the S9600 also takes CompactFlash. You need to check compatibility of xD type M and H with some older cameras.

The obvious answer would be to try it out.

I am sure it would though

Surely it cant take both types? Correction- yes it does-never known this! Movie are not dependent on the type of card, but use a lot of memory, just depends on how long you want to take movies.
still cameras are pretty useless at movies-thats why people buy camcorders.

Yes the movie mode will work with either type of card although the SDHC (high capacity) cards will allow a longer recording time.
