Santander new "improved" mobile app

My ipad 2 (IOS 9.3.5) automatically updated to the new Santander mobile app yesterday. Never had any problems before this update but now cannot make payments without crashing out of the app repeatedly. Contacted Santander this am and was told this is now a known problem with "older devices" and no current solution other than using the website. Very disappointing Santander.

ios9 users should turn off auto updates then0

maybe your'e complaint should be aimed at apple for not supporting your'e old ipad0

Ipad2 is getting long in the tooth now.
You!!!8217;ve done well, but at some point it will become redundant, this is the start and its not Santander!!!8217;s fault.
Apps are designed to operate on the latest OS of the device.0 -
I'm on android and I'm not hugely impressed. It seems reluctant to let you log in again once you've logged out, and making multiple payments is much more faff, having to enter details again for each individual one.0

on the old app i could swap between my account and my wife's by changing the user id at the top but no more, i have to use the app on my tab to get access to another account but that's the same on most of the apps0

Yep, probably my ipad is long in the tooth but when the App store says for IOS 9.0 and later is required for this app it seems reasonable to expect it to work? However perhaps it is naive to have high expectations of believing such statements from Apple, or banks providing customers with possible constraints to inform customer decisions after launching new apps. I have enjoyed the convenience of using banking apps and unfortunately not all of us can afford to update our hardware but am willing to accept using websites or telephone banking as alternatives. My original post was not so much a complaint but to inform other users of this forum who may be in a similar position.0

it looks a bloody pain.
Have to register the device ? What do you have to do?0 -
Did you try uninstalling the app and reinstalling?0

It's probably not a good idea to complain to Santander about that. :rotfl:0 -

Have to register the device ? What do you have to do?
On Android, punters have to do a full sign in using their ID, passcode and registration number; then enter a One Time Passcode they receive by SMS.
After that, they can log in using only their five digit registration number.
Most banking apps require some sort of initial set up.0
