Free tickets from GNER at thier new website... but hurry

Not sure how many people received the e-mail from GNER but they are offering free first class tickets just for booking a ticket on thier new website.
The e-mail I got has the following link:
http://tickets.gner.co.uk/gner/en/JourneyPlanning/GnerWebTISHomePage
All you need to do is register, buy a ticket, then fill in some details and they will send you a free first class ticket. There are some T&C's but nothing special.
I was meant to be travelling with work to Peterborough, so I got a free ticket for just doing what I was planning on doing anyway. Seems crazy as I only paid £18 for a standard ticket and I get a free ticket to go first anywhere on GNER in first. I also got the 10% discount that you normally get for buying online at thier other site. And the new site is not bad either, takes a few minutes to get used to it but its quite simple.
Worth giving it a go before they pull the offer.

Hi theoneandonly, Just took advantage of the offer with a couple of bookings, it didn't mention anything on the confirmation pages about the vouchers I'm assuming it was just a case of going through the entry page you posted is that correct?:beer:0

So if you buy a one way ticket from A to B do you get a free ticket from B back to A ?0
-
Thanks, but if you havn't received the email then you can't take advantage of the offer.1. You must have been invited by this email to participate in this offer. You must have been registered with GNER and made a previous booking at gner.co.uk in order to qualify.
The question is why have GNER launched a new ticket booking engine with less than a couple of months of their franchise left to run? Or is this the first sign of the "new ticketing system that matches demand to capacity" that NX say will be part of the new franchise, but running under GNER branding to avoid confusion? I'm confused....0 -

I emailed GNER; their reply:Thank you for your email regarding the Promotional offer for using the new GNER Online Booking Engine.
At the moment, there is plenty of availability for the GNER First Class Vouchers.
When the availability does expire, there will be a note on the new website stating this.
You will be sent a confirmation email once your ticket has been booked on the new Online Booking Engine.
This contains a link that you will need to click, and you simply fill in the details that are required.
Your voucher will then be dispatched by post within 28 days.0 -

Nope. You just need to make a transaction for a total of £15 or more between 15 October and 4 November on their new website & you'll get a free 1st class return ticket which you can use between 6 Jan 2008 & 7 Feb 2008.
Some of their T&C's:
http://tickets.gner.co.uk/gner/en/JourneyPlanning/GnerWebTISHomePage#tandcYou must have been invited by this email to participate in this offer. You must have been registered with GNER and made a previous booking at gner.co.uk in order to qualify.
Each voucher entitles you to a First Class return train journey anywhere on the GNER route, for one person for travel between 6 January 2008 and 7 February 2008 inclusive.
Please allow 28 days from booking for delivery of your voucher. Reservations for complimentary First Class travel must be made before 21 December 2007.
A maximum of 3 separate applications is allowed per customer and the offer is limited to the first 5,000 transactions only.0 -
Cheers Mouse_potato I got the application link on my e mail confirmations and applied without any problem. Should make a nice break in bonny scotland.:beer:0

Is this genuine? Are the confirmations ACTUALLY FROM GNER (i.e. ...@gner.trainsfares.co.uk) or from the marketing site as well (emreact.com)? It just seems a bit like a scam to me.
EDIT: After e-mailing GNER about the authenticity of this offer, they confirmed it is genuine, and I have now placed a booking (thought I'd leave my original query here, just in case anyone else is a sceptic)
I didn't actually book any GNER tickets, but that isn't stated anywhere in the t&c's of the offer, just that the booking must be made through their site...in the event that I don't get the free voucher, I wouldn't want to be left with £15 worth of tickets that I can't use (and there isn't anywhere on GNER's route that I need to go)0 -
Be cool Muffin_man this is fine I've booked a number of trips in the last couple of days and the tickets and receipts have all turned up the day after ordering. All I hope is that the free vouchers all turn up OK which I'm sure they will:beer:0

You're right about the T&Cs but the email does say "book your regular GNER journey worth £15 or more"0 -
Has anyone got these through yet? Called them a couple of times and have been told as long as I filled the form in they will be delivered within 28 days. Not here yet and 28th day tomorrow! Hmmm.0
