...But if you got a buyer who wanted a FULL refund, and they started a Paypal dispute, then if Paypal ruled in the buyers favor (as they do) then they would take the FULL amount off you.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0

However paypal do take refunds seriously and if it goes to a dispute for item not as described or loss in post then the seller must refund the amount in full including post and packing.
Which is irrelavent in this as it would happen whatever the postage and as long as you are prepared for that as a seller it should be your choice. The postage is there in the listings for people to make an informed choice as to what one to buy, if you see 3 identical items at:
£30 with free postage
£20 with £10 postage
£10 with £20 postage
and
£0.99 with £29 postage
you can look at them and decide which ones suits you better. I for one do not care what people charge for postage, if I'm buying something I look at the total price and decide if it's what I want to pay, simple really, mind you I can also find good that are new without worrying what's in the item title, but that's a different story.0 -
if however you are involved in a paypal dispute and yes paypal will refund the bid price plus postage, the buyer is then responsible for returning the said item at what was it £25 postage they would more than likely go with royal mail so they probaby wouldnt bothere for time and effort.0

If only eBay totalled the item price and postage costs so you could sort ascending.

.........
So you state in your auction advert that the item is heavy, you give the buyer the option of...
Royal Mail (Example £24.99)
or
courier service (Example £19.99)
with the latter always being cheaper than RM.(hope they choose the courier option)
.......
Thankyou to Royal Mail for being so expensive,I could not have done it without them !
Um, I think you'll find that Royal Mail Standard Parcels service costs a maximum of £13.33.
Did you ever get people asking if they could collect in person?0 -
Good luck to the OP.
As long as the costs are clearly shown he'she's doing nothing wrong....well, you can say they're getting one over on eBay....but given the chance who wouldn't????
As fuzzgun pointed out though....if a dispute arises and the OP loses out....then the FULL cost hits them......still worth it based on the %age game...if i had known then what i know now0
