@foxgloves yes to pants-on-fire! I believe that might translate to pantalones en fuego which seems to fit the general mood...it looks as if even his own party is waking up to what a bad idea he is. Mostly for reasons of self-preservation but a few are concerned about corroding democracy though that is more from MPs of other parties...love Humdinger xx4

@Deni_debt-free_dreamer & @Humdinger1, I think the wheels (or should that be the elastic?) are starting to come off the PantsOnFire sh*tshow & a lot of weak self-serving MPs are going to need to take a long hard look at themselves & their catastrophically poor judgement.

Hello Tulips!
(My Grandad used to call me 'Tulip' when I was a little girl).
Quite nice sunshine but a chilly wind means I'm sitting out in my leather jacket watching more pieces of Mr F's greenhouse shading flying off.
No gardening planned for today. Not feeling that great tbh - been feeling an attack of IBS brewing all week & now here it is, bah! No get-well spends required as had Busc*pan & turmeric/ginger tea bags in the cupboard. It will go when it's ready as usual. Usually at least a bit of a stress element to it - not sure what, but I am.now really desperate to see the end of the building work, so I've probably been carrying a lot of tension from that.
Anyway, a few positives...
*Bought a big bag of cat biscuits & bread this morning which means we did indeed get Week 4's food shopping in for less than £35, meaning that we will come in at just under April's grocery budget.
*Managed to find some hessian in town this morning. Bought 1m to back the tiny rug I've just finished making & intend to gift to my friend for Christmas (unless I make a pig''s breakfast of sewing it up).
*Did not buy long gothy black lace cardi-type thing at nice boutique stall on local market. I need something a bit warmer so I knew buying the Lace Temptation would mean later buying something else. Choosing more carefully saves me money.
*Decided to treat myself to a magazine from my Personal Spends. Couldn't decide between two titles, then Mr F spotted a pack with both of them in for a reduced price. Whooo-hooo!
*Cleaned the house between us - a bare minimum really because limestone & builder dust will continue to be walked into the house all week. Pleased the new dys*n part (£35) prevented another raid on the Appliances Replacement Pot for new vacuum.
*Made up another spray bottle of dilute Stardr*ps. Although I'm looking at more ecologically friendly alternatives, I have to say that this stuff lasts ages. I only buy a single bottle a year!
*A couple of good charity bookshop finds this morning - we went halves on a DVD & I bought a lovely knitting book for £1.99.
*Easter decs all carefully wrapped & packed away for next year. I find this kind of seasonal stuff v tempting but didn't succumb to any newbies this year.
Well, I shall leave things there....I intend to read & hopefully relax.
Take care,

We use very diluted ecover washing up liquid in a spray bottle for general cleaning. Also lasts ages! No idea how it compares to star drops though.
Well done on not buying the cardi, and on finding both magazines together! Excellent frugality!
Hope the IBS passes soon. I can sympathise with builder stress, felt like such a weight was lifted when ours left x9 -
Thanks, @Cheery_Daff..I do sometimes use washing-up liquid for tough cleaning jobs, so switching to a more sustainable brand & using it for multiple jobs could be a good way forward.
Yes, re house renovations, we have had breaks in between, but with new heating system, significant electrical work, internal.building work, new rear courtyard, asbestos removal, remedial plastering of damp wall, new soffits & fascias, remedial brickwork sub dpc, new fireplace, complete redecoration & re-carpeting.......it began in Jan 2020 & I can finally say we are on the final part of the upgrade project......we are sooooo hoping it will be complete by the end of the coming week..I feel very grateful we were in the position to have all this much needed work done, but I just want my house & freedom back now.. Humungous deep clean of house planned next, then I think I'll just retreat to the shed with a box over my head for a few weeks.

Gosh that's a lot of work over a long time! We had joists replaced in Nov 2019, which left us with a building site upstairs and down, and no kitchen. We then spent lockdowns with just a small temporary kitchen, and NOT doing the rest of the renovations ourselves... 🙄 and finally got different builders back in Aug 2021. When they left in December I pretty much slammed the door behind them and did a celebratory dance 😂
Ours isn't anywhere near finished, but everything else is stuff we're (very) slowly picking off ourselves - NOT having another builder in! 😂
(Ours were lovely, and we're lucky enough that we could effectively seal them off in another part of the house with their own loo and kettle, but even so - four months of other people in your house every day is NOT my idea of fun!)6 -
Smiling at the vending machine. I realised how phonetic a lot of graffiti is when I got on a train with my eldest when she was just learning to read and she started sounding out the letters on the back of the seat in front - loudly. We moved seats sharpish! It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!7

Lol, @maryb, yes I think a lot of these words only consist of 4 letters & are thus very easy for beginners to read!

My grandad used to call me scamp so you were obviously more well behaved than I was 😆 My mum used to call me flower or Fleur if she was feeling fancy 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6
