Gorgeous blanket and so beautifully made. My knitting is awful though my DH still wears the long scarf I made him about 50years ago when he had a sports car. Now used for dog walking. At least my efforts werent wasted5

Hello Campers,
Thanks for all your lovely comments about my finished bedspread. It was too warm in our bedroom to keep it on the bed last night, but I put it back on this morning & am pleased with how it looks.
Have been smiling over these school cookery lesson mishaps. I remember my sister's 1st lesson - she was 4 school years behind me. She made stuffed eggs. For younger diary followers who may not be aware of this 1970s buffet staple, it involved hardboiling 6 eggs, cutting them in half lengthways, scooping out the yolks, which were mixed with mayonnaise & various flavourings before being put in a piping bag & squirted decoratively back into the eggwhite halves. My sis told me she was making these & I made a comment along the lines of 'Haha, I bet they'll be rubbish'. She ran to the school gate after the bell clutching her tin shouting to me 'They're not rubbish. They look really good!' But she'd been running & when she removed the lid to show me, all the piped rosettes were upside down stuck to the lid & she just had a pile of empty eggwhites! My lime 'mousse' - another 1970s staple made from jelly & whisked evaporated milk came a similar cropper on the top deck of the school bus. Funny how these silly things stick in our minds.
The newbies are doing OK, thank-you. Soot gave us an extra hour in bed this morning before the breakfast demands began. Ash, who is the most timid worried cat I've ever encountered (just as you described with one of yours, @Blackcats) enjoyed strokes today, came out of the cupboard & did 10 mins of headbutts & purring, so that's a little bit of progress. Soot upended my entire in-tray contents into his bed so those will need a big sort out when I do my midmonth budget check-in tomorrow. Mr F's cooking night, so I'm working on getting the last bit of another knitting project finished.
Have a peaceful evening all,
F x
