Morning all,
Have woken up with a strong urge to be productive today, so will see what I can get done as the day unfolds.
Just need my usual bucket of coffee first.

Foxglove yes it was a nightmare, but.....when we had the burst pipe in the same few days the Dishwasher packed up, we list our landline and wifi(water damage) then the boiler packed up and the washing machine!!! Goes in 3s?? Nope, in our case 5s!! Burst pipe was on insurance. Dishwasher was insured so was the washing machine. New Boiler had to go on my CC sadly. I wasnt happy about that but at the time nothing else I could do.
Hubby in bed poorly today with his neck which then gives him a ,migraine headache.
So I'm up and showered, will have breakfast and wait for my people to wake up.
I will just see where the day takes me today.. Toad in the hole for dinner. I'm on a mission to get my Next Account paid off over the next couple of months.
Glad your mums estate is sorted for you Foxglove. Our builders just down tools and shut down the company. When the people brought back our furniture they were shocked and said we should of been to priority and had the work finished!! Our people came back confused as work was not finished. Hope you get yours sorted Mrs F

So pleased that the estate is finally looking as though it's sorted foxgloves. I know how long that's been going on for.
Can I have some of your motivation please? Mine has done a runner.

Tescodealqueen - I shall look for that on the news.... about construction workers going back to work. Thanks for flagging it up.
Pixiehouse55 - Burst pipes are awful. I had three bursts in two weeks years ago. Thankfulky it was when I still lived in a rented flat so the landlord paid for all the repairs.
Humdinger - Well, I don't feel as though life is all that much fun atm, but common sense I can definitely do..... & I'm working on 'normal' on a daily basis.
CCL - I think I find motivation in being productive. I am not good at sitting around doing nothing. Even the thought of having a 'pyjama day' makes me feel depressed!

Evening Tulips,
Pleased to say that my motivation lasted all day & without spending a single ha'penny, I've kept myself busy with the following:
🐸 Watered all veggie plant babies & newly sown seeds.
🐸 Baked a batch of seeded wholemeal rolls & a spelt loaf.
🐸Soaked dried fruit, sugar & lemon zest ready for baking a fruity tea bread tomorrow.
🐸 Tidied up some unruly climbers on front fence, started clearing moss, litter picked front hedge, weeded front border & swept up.
🐸 Tidied away bits of annoying stuff that had been hanging around.
🐸 Completed a whole sewing project - a kit I received as a gift last year which made up into a small cat cushion. Stuffing not supplied but thankfully I'd saved a bagful from an old cushion I dismantled a while back, so was able to shop that from home & finish the project.
🐸 Digitally cleaned up & improved some very old family photos I acquired recently.
🐸Weeded the garlic bed & watered thoroughly.
🐸Made a pretty gift tag from an Easter card & small piece of purple ribbon which was hanging around.
🐸Finished my book. Shall enjoy choosing my next one.
🐸Supervised Mr F shaving his head but he'd done a good job, so I didn't need to set about him with the clippers, lol.
I hope I can get this post on.... Internet has been shocking here today. On & off all day.
Well, I'm off to do some serious sitting on my backside.
Be safe, m'dears,
F xx

Afternoon m'dears,
A classic case this morning of failing to get up when I woke......which was about 6am & falling back to sleep for an extra 40 mins. Woke up the 2nd time with a headache brewing, so got up immediately & thankfully it lifted after breakfast & failed to come to anything requiring painkillers. .....which means I am having a productive day. Another day of spending a big fat resounding now't.....not being able to go anywhere is meaning I am avoiding a lot of coffee & scone purchasing scenarios.
OK, what have I got done today? Well, we started with the big weekly clean. Mr F is more than happy to share this when he is not working, so I did the kitchen, tidying & cloakroom and he did the bathroom & vacuuming. It was all out of the way nice & early, which is how I like it, as I am not a fan of housework.
I've also baked the tea loaf for which I soaked all the fruit yesterday, entered a competition, watered veg plants/troughs, dug over a strip of vegetable bed I intend to use for planting out baby lettuce modules tomorrow, picked a small spray of flowers to put in the beautiful glass flower bottle I received for my birthday and dealt with my emails.
I also discussed the building work with Mr F again, esp the issue of whether to get back to the company who are keen to come & make a start asap. We have pretty much concluded that we will tell them we want to sort out a date but that we will require social distancing to be very much in place. One issue which did occur to us as we discussed it, is that if we don't get this job done, then we actually run a risk of having two firms each working on separate jobs at the same time, which would be much more difficult to implement social distancing measures. If we have one firm at a time, we can use separate loo facilities, & will have options of where to spend our time. If both firms overlap, we will probably have to spend much of our time upstairs & wouldn't be able to keep bathrooms separate. So we have decided to get in touch with the firm who want to come & do our outdoor work tomorrow or Monday morning & put that in motion. It is so different how we have to think of this stuff now, compared with pre-Covid. Once we'd pretty much decided to get this first job rolling, my next thought was how much disinfectant I'd got & whether there'd be any rubber gloves in the supermarket! Because the way I feel atm is that nobody is going to be entering our house if I am unable to go around afterwards disinfecting all relevant surfaces. The builder doing our main internal work got in touch to see if we still wanted the booking to go ahead (it's not until August) as he is also resuming work next week & I think he is trying to reschedule the customers who lost their building slots due to Lockdown. I know the people before us in his work queue were due to have an extension, for example.
Mr F is cooking tonight & we have decided to have a gardening day tomorrow, so I have only one job left today & that is to read carefully through all the printouts from the solicitor ready to discuss with my sister tomorrow when we skype. If it all looks OK, we will be more than happy to sign, scan & send our agreement that the estate's final accounts are correct & finally to see an end to the legal side of the whole sad business.
This evening we are planning to start watching another Scandi tv series, but I also intend to do some serious sitting on my backside with some magazines.
Blackcats - if you are reading......nearly had a 'candle wobble' today, but have steadied my resolve, as I am 95% reformed these days.
Right, legal docs it is then........
F xx
