Happy Birthday Foxgloves. Enjoy your cake!!
It's taken me over a month to read your Diary. Very interesting/helpful. I had to re register as I couldn't remember my details😁. Cant find how to do your signature( credit cards owing etc) where do I find it please?. I already have 5 bank accounts. Main account for Bill's. 1 for Christmas. 1 for vets Bill's. 1 for holidays. 1 for clothes and 1 for emergency funds. I draw out £200 a month split between me and my oh, that is for extra food bits n pieces and our own personal spend money. We've got 2 credit cards to pay off and my well known clothes shop account to pay off. We have Adults with Learning difficulties living with us. 1 female age 56 and 1 make age 70. The male is a very fussy eater!!! So cooking for meals are not always easy!!. We have 2 dogs Harry and Belle both are from rescue kennels and both are Saluki's. As you can imagine with this nasty virus going around the day centres day support and respite is not available at the moment so we've got our people 24/7 Help!!🙈 lol
So I'm on board getting a few tips on the way and enjoy a few giggles
Happy Wednesday to you all. Hope you don't mind me joining in. I'm not on a lot as I have to see to our people. They are still in bed at the moment, so relaxing breakfast and cup of tea

Belated happy birthday Foxgloves.Although you converted me to budgeting a few months back it seems to have been so difficult at the moment. It’s payday tomorrow do I’ve written April off and am going to start afresh for May. First job needs to be a freezer inventory followed by a plan for eating it. I hate wasting food so tend to take something out of the freezer, make a meal then put a couple of portions back in the freezer for another day - thus the freezer never seems to go down!6

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, everyone.
CCL - Yes, thanks, it was relaxing & as festive as we could make it in the circumstances.
Pixiehouse55 - I can imagine you are a full house then, with day centres/respite unavailable at the moment. To access signature, go into your profile & the options to set things like that are there.
Oceandreamer - We did a new freezer inventory a coupe of weeks ago as things were getting ridiculous. We found a few things we'd forgotten about & it's felt quite rewarding getting them used up in meals. I hate food waste too, as it is so unnecessary.

Hello diary readers,
Oh my goodness, the weather has turned. Great to see some rain falling on our dry-as-dust garden, but I'd got used to my lockdown afternoons sitting out by the pond with my book feeling the sun on my face. It's so chilly here that I almost contemplated lighting the fire (then thought about how good it felt last week when I saw we'd reduced our energy account debit by £10 already.....). I'm wearing boots, a big cardi & cat has squidged himself in between us on the sofa as he weighs up his likely odds of success if he starts angling for a 2nd plate of dinner.
I'd intended to be quite productive today. I was up early, but then we spent about an hour over breakfast working on a diplomatic reply to a text from one of the home improvement firms we accepted a quote from, but who want to come & do the work pretty much now. I can absolutely understand people need to work, but we were genuinely conflicted because of the current lockdown rules not having yet been relaxed, & we have been squeaky clean in our adherence to social distancing, not visiting anyone & not having anyone over to our house. So we sent a carefully worded reply to say we definitely want the work done but we would prefer to wait until there is more up-to-date guidance on this type of work. I do understand the rules have been vague on who can & can't work and that workers who are unable to work from home are allowed to carry on working with appropriate Covid safety measures in place, but this conflicts with advice for domestic households re not having any other non-household members visit. We have decided to wait a couple of weeks & see if there are any updates.
So, one message sent after all that, & I was just deciding what to do next when my sis-in-law phoned to wish me a belated happy birthday, regale me with a peculiar dog story & we went on to have a proper yak for an hour. Lovely to have contect with the outside world, but still no jobs done. Got the pots washed, then a knock at the door & it was Postie with a pile of belated birthday cards & 2 presents. How lovely! So I spent another hour on those, as one card contained a really long newsy letter from a friend who lives down south who I haven't seen for ages. Did the ironing then it was lunchtime,
Since then, I've watered the greenhouse plant babies & checked they don't need their blankie back on & gathered up a load of things for my stair basket. I will take those up & properly put them away in a minute, but I decided to give up on jobs this afternoon & have been doing hobby/leisure things instead. I must do better tomorrow! I'm looking forward to finishing my book tonight though.....I seem to have been reading it for ages, although it is a nice chunky one.
OK.....time to tackle that overflowing stairbasket.
No spends here......at least that's one good thing about today!
Hope you are all doing ok.

Seems like you have had a lovely day @foxgloves including extending your birthday celebrations what with chatting with SIL, the letter from your friend and belated cards. It was not the day you planned but lovely none the less, even if the sun hasn't played ball.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Yes, Baileys_Babe, you are right, I can resume my intended tasks tomorrow.......they are not exactly going to disappear on their own, unless a team of helpful little job-doing goblins sneak in overnight, so I may as well have an extra day of birthday.

Foxglove we had a burst pipe November last year. All the faffing around and eventually in February the insurance company got their own people out to fix all the damage as they didnt like the quote we got for the said work.. laminated flooring needed replacing, oak skirting boards. 2 fire doors. Back lobby door, unit under the sink where we had the burst pipe. Crack in the wall. Anyway they came out and took up laminated flooring, old vinyl tiles underneath that had asbestos in them. That was the friday. Following Wednesday someone came out to take tiles to be tested. A week Saturday they came out and took tiles up and sealed the floor (specialised company had to do it) Monday they came tolay new flooring, had to stop not ordered enough flooring. So started painting the lounge. Then Tuesday phone call sorry company gone into lockdown cant finish the work but you will be top priority to finish your work when this is all over. They got the storage company to bring back all of our furniture ( 4 weeks of sitting in deckchairs with a bad back).. so I'm surprised the builders wanted to come in your house and do the work. Not sure what is ok for people to do work wise and who isnt!! Apart from NHS staff of course and key workers. Sorry long winded post but I wanted to explain how we ended up not having our work finished because of lockdown... Does that make sense??, ha ha I do hope so.......... oh and I wanted to ask you your different pots for difference items is that bank accounts or just pots at home for things like Birthday/Christmas/, food etc?, some of your meals sound lush, doubt my people would eat them thou. My lady not too bad but our man is very very fussy eater. ... wide awake cant sleep, hubby snoring away. 🙈🙈Mortgage free September 2021. Narrowboat brought October 2021
