This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning All
So pleased to hear you are ok Holly, I really hope you get the help you need.
Cold with flurries of snow here but nothing too bad at the moment, hope you are all safe and warm, JackieO I heard that Kent is suffering at the moment.
Went for a lovely coffee and divine strawberry tart yesterday after work - used a voucher so no cost, perfect.
Swiming, work and then nothing this evening, just how I like it!
Have a good day. Take care. XX0 -
Morning everyone
Hollyharvey - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, cold, frosty and a sprinkle of snow - we're expecting a hit today and tomorrow - we'll see. It's very bitterly cold.
Dinner last night was smoked sausage and mushroom pasta with creme fraiche sauce, breaded chicken portion each for the menfolk. Tonight should be chicken topped with stuffing wrapped in bacon but I forgot to get the chicken out to defrost, so will have to buy some fresh chicken breasts on the way home from work and use them, it's my early finish today so I'll have time to prep everything when I get home.
Yesterday work was a busy one, I'm not surprised, people wanted to get things done so today and tomorrow they don't need to leave the house if the weather and travel conditions get bad.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and welcome back to the fold HOLLY. I honestly can't believe the way you are being treated by the whole Mental Health Team. But you are safely back in your own home and let's hope they don't start hounding you again. Keep posting.
We have the promised snow and it's still falling. The three DGDs are all still fast asleep and there is no way we will get them to school this morning. It might not be as bad down in the town where the schools are but up here it's always worse. DD texted to say she was walking down into town and hopeful of a bus to get her on to work. I hope they are keeping the main route out of town clear and some buses are running. Blooming snow I hate the way it disrupts everything. It's pretty if you have nowhere to go and can just look at it from the window!
So it's a day of playing games etc for us! I hope the younger ones don't get any ideas of building snowmen!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) as always for the poorlies, carers, sad, worried or lonely, Especially HOLLY. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -

Morning :hello:
Hollyharvey I'm so pleased to see you posting! All these experts and they can't decide what's best for you, or even talk to you properly about it  Can your GP push them for more info? xx
Sorry I missed some birthdays – I hope you all had good days. Have some cake :bdaycake: :bdaycake: :bdaycake:
Bbbrrr it's cold! It wasn't too bad here yesterday, probably because there was no breeze at all. I was in and out of the garden and I left the back door open for most of the day, but it got really cold at around 5pm and we had about four flakes of snow. I was snuggled under a blanket at 9.30pm watching a film, there was a power cut. Luckily it only lasted about 45 mins but I was worried in case it lasted because of the weather – I'm rubbish in cold weather unless I wear enough clothes to resemble the michelin man, lol.
I expect the chickens' water will keep freezing over so I'll have to keep an eye on it. Scampi goes out to sit in the sun, realises it's not warm and comes back in again. Then he lies on the sofa behind my head in the afternoon, gradually moving along as the sun moves and gets in a huff when his little bit of sun finally disappears. Harry doesn't care, his tank is permanently heated
My yarn arrived so I've been growing my blanket. It's big enough to lay over my legs as I'm working on it so it's keeping me warm, but when I'm two-thirds along a row I'll try to pull it across in an attempt to get to the end and realise Scampi has shifted over and is lying on it. I laid another blanket on the sofa but he doesn't want it, he always wants the one I'm working on
There's not much going on here, unless you count getting down on my knees and scrubbing the skirting boards. I didn't realise how bad they were until I started cleaning them and now I'm very proud of myself, lol. The shopping is coming this morning, I haven't got anything planned apart from that so I'll just tidy up a bit and see what the weather does before deciding on anything else.

Morning all. Well the promised snow has arrived, inches of it./
Thank you all so much for the birthday greetings, you are all very kind. Pisces does seem to be well represented on here!!
Holly, it's so good so "see" you back, but what an awful time of it you have had - I really hope that you can get the help you need,.We've all been so concerned about you.
Judi, sorry to hear you had a wasted morning, you must feel helpless.
Dumpling, hope Becky is calmer today.
Nanny Windows, your trip to T*sco sounds like a nightmare, hope you've recovered in your darkened room!!
LW, hope you'll be ok.
I think I'll walk down and see if my tai chi class is still on this morning. Presumably the main roads will have been treated, so we'll see. If it's not on I'll do a bit of shopping, and come home. We'll go down for our quiz night as well, tonight, unless we are walled in with snow by then.
Everyone take care if you're going out.0 -
Morning All,

Morning all.
Holly, it is good to see you posting but you've had an awful time. I hope you will be able to get the support you need.
We had flurries of snow yesterday but nothing too significant. An hour ago, tge snow got going properly here and it is falling steadily now. I've an out and about day so I'll be wearing lots of clothes and my dreadful big boots of ultimate doom. The dreadful part is that they are so heavy, but they have massively thick tread. So far, public transport is running. I don't have a massive hankering to be stuck the other side of town this evening though the job I need to do over there is important. If I really have to, I might do as much as possible by phone.
It is going to look pretty though.
We have the gas man coming this morning, hope he is not late as I woukd like OH to be able to get me to the bus but I'm not holding my breath.
Have a good day peopleI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Good morning all
