as you are well aware new users cannot post links to other sites.

so refrain from calling me a liar on open forums if you are unwilling to look up a simple you tube video made by the manufacturer advertising the very feature you care claiming doesn't exist.

You wrote that you read it somewhere, common logic would beg the question why would a car need to apply the brakes if the object is to save fuel?
  • its a safety feature to ensure the brakes are dry and efficient.

So see when you get the car back, you seem to be dwelling on that 'secret' more than not having use of a car you recently purchased.

Strange as unless the vehicle has AEB, I can't see how/why the brakes would just apply themselves, but still as before, wait until you get the car back.

My neice got a 59 plate BMW 3 series. She took us out to a restaurant in the next town and I noticed that the ABS light was coming on on gradual bends and roundabouts for no reason and also applying the brakes ABS style without any input from the driver. Pointed it out, said it shouldn't be like that. Interestingly it only did it with passengers in the back. Never did find out what the problem was.

    Ninth Anniversary Combo Breaker
You're within time to reject it, so perhaps let the dealer know (and confirm to them in writing) that you'll be doing that if they don't authorise the work within so many days. That's likely to focus their efforts on tracking down the elusive director.

As for the fault itself, there's no reason to think that it won't be fixed properly - sounds like they're playing safe and replacing pretty well the whole braking system. Seeing as it doesn't appear to be a known fault that's a sensible precaution.

You're not treating a new user very nicely. I put it to you that you can read something on YouTube video. OP directed you towards it as best they could.

Are they really a new user? ;)
After a time you notice the style of the same user posting weird and wonderful problems, and then wish to dwell on the problem with little urgency to have a running vehicle, the cars always seem to be BMW's & Yaris, then they wish to get into some sort of debate.
As for the link I don't need to look at it, that's not going to get his car fixed any sooner.

    Only 11 posts - though I see they've been registered since 2010.
So you're accusing them of not being new as well as being a Dark Matter alias. You can only choose one.

It won't get their car fixed sooner, no. But you're the one that asked for it! They provided the link, and you dismissed it without looking - not nice.

Perhaps you miss the logic....depends how old you are how what sort of people you converse with, somebody said? Who is that somebody? If the source cannot be remembered then the subject is insignificant too, I get the impression from the post that we the readers must believe this magic feature on BMWs , forgetting that the OP is without vehicle.
There are enough regular experienced readers on the forum to have already heard or aware of this magic feature on BMW's .
But as said the focus is to be on a resolve, not the feature unfeature of the BMWs.
