Hi,
I've been loitering for a long time but never posted a SOA on here, just did my own cut backs and so on.
I feel like I need a bit of motivation at the mo, Im in an IVA and really want to up the amount that I end up paying back - aiming at all.
Im already paying £141 a month more than what was originally required of me. After receiving the end of year one details I feel bad at how much the creditors are getting. So endevour I will. I worked out that I need to pay an extra £20.16 a day to pay it all back within the term.
However, the extras I make wont strictly be going straight there (except for what I am contractually bound to) as I have several emergency funds going - just in case. So that I never end up like this again.
Dont mind if no-one reads this, just think that I will be spurred on by giving myself other challenges.
So SOA is as follows
Incoming
Salary - 1553.31
Child benefit - £72.40
DM - £85.00
Tax credits - £460.41
Total: £2171.12
Outgoing
Mortage - £650
Car insurance - £109.81
Water - £28.18
Utilities - £80.00
IVA - £559.57
Council tax - £90.00
house insurance - £23.84
School dinners - £37.91
Tax disc - £10.00
Sky - £45.00
Mobile - £40.00
Food - £150.00 (max based on below)
Petrol - £20.00 (max based on below)
Total - £1844.31
Spare - £346.81 (This varies and I split it between the savings stockpiles, food, petrol and paying back DM)
So yesterday on getting to my £20.16 more money a day target I did a mystry shop (£10).
Thank you for reading assuming you do.

Hi Roxy
My comments are above in red, I hope you find them helpful.
I really admire your attitude you know, in really wanting to get debt free as soon as possibleIt sounds like you're working really hard towards this, maybe some of my suggestions above might help it come even sooner
I noticed no TV licence on your SOA though, did you forget this or have you paid for the year?
I can't get my breath re how much your car insurance is  how come it's so huge? Honestly, do look at confused.com and quidco for cheaper quotes - let me give you an example - at the moment H and I are paying £60 a month for life insurance (decreasing term just to cover the mortgage if either of us die, so no pay back from it at all). I got a quote last night from Legal & General for £14 per month AND quidco will pay me £80 for it. I was stunned.
Best of luck to you and do keep posting. I find this site absolutely invaluable at the moment for keeping me motivated, the support is amazing and it's whats keeping me going right now
Scarlett xxYou can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that

Hi Scarlett,
Thanks for your reply, your right I missed the TV licence - oops, I pay this quarterly.
DM - Is money my dearest mother long term loans me as she doesnt want to see me go hungry.
Car insurance - Is due to having no claims after a bus decided to drive away with half of it, being under 25 and it having a big engine. It is however up for renewal at the end of the month so will investigate your suggestions.
House insurance - that is the lowest I could find, but is buildings and contents, just re jigged that one, as it was £39 before.
Sky - is my luxury at the moment but will definately cut back if times get too hard
Mobile - Tied into this at the moment, but its all inclusive so never go over that.0 -
Yesterday and today I've been collecting books from some wonderful people to sell on Amazon.
This is part of the Ebay neutral christmas savings challenge but hopefully they should sell - there are loads of them.0 -
hope you have managed to get all the books onto Amazon, i should do this really but never get round to it. Now that sounds like an excuse to me!0

Just wanted to say goodluck
I've got to dig out all my books from the shed i have a feeling you wont move in my room and i shall be lost under a pile of paperbacks but it all helps :-)0 -
well, Ive had a fun week. Went to see the moscow state circus (I didnt pay) highly recommend it. My daughter loved it too never seen her so excited. Have managed to sell 4 books in the last few days, and sorted out my daughters bedroom, she has allowed me to "let someone else play with her excess toys".
My £20 a day target is near on impossible, but Im still going, have managed to
-withdraw £12 from greenmetropolis from book sales
-withdraw £8.45 from paypal for ebay sales
- withdrawn £7.03 from ciao for reviews and surveys
- order a £2 boots voucher from Ipsos for surveys
-withdraw £1 from lightspeed for surveys
so todays total is £28.480 -
So that is where all the toys went to when I was a child?
I never actually realised that they were being rehoused or binned because there were too many of them. :rotfl: Congratulations on the amounts that you have raised you are doing really well.

Hi all,
I strongly recommend amazon for books - seem to be selling quite a few, cant get them out fast enough.
Havent quite got round to listing the toys yet though, have been preoccupied with my daughters/OH birthday tomorrow. Wrapped up all the presents - think Im the most excited one though. Daughter has got a new bed and a learning games console that will last until shes about 10, assuming it stays alive for 5 years, went halves on that with my mum, and then a whole bunch of barbie room stuff as toys r us have a sale on, so some cushions and wall stickers to make it pretty. Had to give her the bed early though as it was a bit hard to hide - loves it though, its a bunk bed with desk and sofa chair so she feels like a big girl though. Got OH the fifa 08 game, think it was a big mistake though as Im never going to see the TV.
Just xmas now, though I wont be so frivolous (sp?) think birthdays should be a bigger deal.
Managed to stay within my food budget so as long as I dont need to buy any bits should have another £50 or so to put aside.
Had a £5 boots voucher come from Ipsos panel and £4 from pinecone research - so bought the wrapping paper with that and some hair stuff which is always on the list of things I cant justify. Feels like free money.
Also my car insurance went down to £80 on renewal. Dont know what I did right but was very impressed, sat there on the phone saying "are you sure".
Will update my sig. tomorrow I think, once I've paid the bills, and before they start shouting at me asking for money.
Not sure if I'll be able to sleep though, Im all over enthusiastic about getting so many things done and having a xmas and birthday on no credit.
