  • Judi...glad someone had a laugh..... I was on my way home from DD2's when I hit black ice and ended up with the rear of the car embeded in a hedge.

Thankfully I did not do the same thing today although I have to admit I drove down the road very gingerly on the way back.

DGD has ditched the useless, fat boyfriend!! Can you hear me cheering??? She deserved better than him. very controlling and also a master at put downs, mind you he was not as good as me. I did reduce him to red faced silence a couple of times.

A very light lunch. OH is having his siesta, I have prepped supper which we will have earlier around 4.30pm. Sliced the gammon I cooked yesterday, doing roast potato and roast sweet potato, brussels and carrots with it. OH requested mustard sauce, his wish is my command. Not sure about a dessert.think I might have a strawberry whip, in the cupboard. Do not have them very often they are very sugar heavy.

The no salt route is going down ok. I did soak the gammon for 2 days to get rid of the salt, have tasted a bit and its ok.

Right, time to put my feet up for a short while. DD2 gave me 3 copies of Country Living, so that should keep me going for a while.

    Afternoon all

Bright and cold here today. Have washing on the line so hope it will be nearly dry.

Ds took us out for breakfast this morning. I had American pancakes with berry compote and thick yoghurt. A lovely treat. Afterwards we popped into Aldee and I bought some lamb for dinner.

I have a Victoria Sandwich in the oven. I like Mary Berry's all in one recipe. DH lined the tins for me and washed up. Such is the power of cake!

LW hope you feel better soon.
Csarina glad you had a safe journey.
Holly if you are reading along hope you come home soon.

HH hope you had a nice trip. Lentil bake sounds nice. I am investigating eating more vegan meals.

Well have a nice day all and keep warm.

I had a lovely time with dds and sil and after coffee we went to prezzas where dd had found a 40% off deal and had a really tasty and healthy lunch. Treated dd to new shoes as hers are worn out and not suitable for the cold and ice.

Other dd and sil drove me home and I gave them the details for a "which " subscription so they could look up reviews for pushchairs and travel systems. In case it does snow tomorrow I popped to the local shop for bread, eggs, potatoes and veg. Managed to make leek and potato soup which I have just tried and have some to put in the fridge for tomorrow with defrosted sea bass and some chicken.

It seems really cold here but the central heating should turn on in the next half hour and I have turned up the thermostat as well as looking out a cardigan and hot water bottle for tonight.

Hugs to all especially Hollyharveyand lamewolf.
