Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one,
Just a quick one, we are off to DD2's in a mo, have not seen her since I put the car in the hedge in January.
Its a bright morning, very blue sky, even so I will be coming back through LC village not down the hill, on previous experience I know that road does not dry out because of the trees.
May be back later.0 -
Good morning all,
Another one with sloth like tendencies here. I'm half way through the ironing so I've stopped for a short break. Yesterday I made chocolate cupcakes with chocolate buttercream icing. They look lovely but like Elona I'm following slimming world so someone else will have to eat them. The HT seems to be the main volunteer. I also made a light fruit cake which doesn't seem quite as dangerous. I'm going to halve that and put half in the freezer for later in the week.
Bright blue sky here but cold as is everywhere else. Cat number two spent a while down the bottom of the garden yesterday but she's not so keen today so I assume the temperature is dropping. Roast dinner for us today - it's my best chance of getting plenty of veg into the HT.
Nelski I don't buy linen for that very reason. As for the denim one, if you like it maybe chuck it back into the wash and catch it quick and hang it up when it comes out the other end. If you iron it damp it may be easier? If it's not a thing of wonder then maybe you don't need it.
Take care all of you0 -
Morning all.
" I don't believe it !", I've woken up coughing and sneezing again ! I absolutely refuse to have the lurgy back  ( stamps foot ).
Anyway normal Sunday for us, Dad's coming over and we're having roast pork with all the trimmings. There won't be much meat for the boys though as Dad bought a small piece of loin and I don't think he realised that it also had the bone in. So it's more bone than meat, might have to do a few sausages to bump it out. I appreciate he likes to contribute now and again but something other than pork would be nice.
The oven is on, warming up for the roasties, I think they'll take longer than the meat today :rotfl:and the veg is prepped. Mr Fix It is in the shower as he emptied the bin from in the shed this morning and the first bag split so he had to clean up again. There was sawdust everywhere, mostly over him :rotfl:.
I don't know if we will get the snow this week but I'm taking no chances, so I will top up on milk and potatoes tomorrow. It's certainly going to be very parky out by all accounts .
Hope everyone has a good Sunday, stay safe and warm. Sending positive vibes and hugs to all.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -

Forgive me I had to laugh. It wasn't what you said it was the way you said it.:DThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hello everyone, I've been avoiding the ironing all morning. It is a pretty day, bright blue sky but cold. I'm not totally looking forward to the week ahead, snow us forecast and I'll be out and about, working. I don't feel great but really do need to be at work.
Last night OH cooked a cassoulet, I haven't told him but I wasn't keen. For some reason, he put miles too much salt in for my taste. Still, it is nice not to have to cook every night, he does at least half the cooking. My turn today, I'm doing spare ribs in hoi sin sauce. Also guacamole to use up the avocado that took a full week to ripen and I might make a flat bread. Or some form of dippable bread if I can think of anything.
When I was speaking to my ,mum earlier, she asked if the house was tidier and cleaner while DS is away and yes it is, hugely.
Hope Holly is doing wellI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
If I were a dormouse in an earlier life (likes to curl up and sleep the winter away) then I'd like to return as an eagle, soaring up high on the winds.
My second attempt at an easy chocolate sponge is complete. I did it the traditional way even though it was more of a faff. I also did the weighing eggs thing, just to make life a little more difficult. Perhaps I need to revisit that O'grade I achieved in Domestic Science in 1848.
Now I've got mince in the oven roasting before making a Mexican Lasanage. Alongside it there's some sausages which need cooking. Dishwasher loaded, washing machine in spin, all necessary direct debits set up, one bank account closed and all's well in my world for now.
I've got a little pile of post to open tomorrow, how good am I that I've not dived in immediately. :j
Right, ping meal has just pinged!0 -
I've been awol for a couple of days; lupus flare has been giving me a lot of grief, so been concentrating on just looking after Suzie and leaving anything not totally essential.
I've skim-read back over the Dailies - looks like poor Holly got admitted after all then.I hope it's a better experience than she feared, and that she's not feeling too lost and alone.
I'm a tad cross with Mr LW - granted, he's helped while I've been too poorly to do much, but I felt well enough to do a spot of washing up this morning, and I had to clean the sink and drainer first, it was absolutely minging. Oh well, he does try, which is more then some men do.I've sent him off to scrub the loo, for his sins.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Gers I'm sorry, I've marked one of your posts as spam by accident and I can't get it undone
