This may be totally irrelevant to the OP’s situation, but someone in housing development told me today that more and more tradesmen, gas, electrics etc, are not renewing their registration because of costs.
His plumber is no longer gas registered, so though he is fully qualified and experienced, any safety certificates he issues are invalid.0 -
If this plumber is carrying out gas work as he is no longer "qualified" he is breaking the law.Newly_retired wrote: »This may be totally irrelevant to the OP’s situation, but someone in housing development told me today that more and more tradesmen, gas, electrics etc, are not renewing their registration because of costs.

It's simple, if a heating engineer is not Gas Safe registered then you don't use them. I've never understood why some people cut corners on there own safety by employing people who do not have the necessary qualifications.Newly_retired wrote: »This may be totally irrelevant to the OP’s situation, but someone in housing development told me today that more and more tradesmen, gas, electrics etc, are not renewing their registration because of costs.
