Would recommend an Alesis Transactive Wireless Speaker , I have used them loads for events, music gigs, speeches, weddings, parties etc and great to have around the home, they are rechargeable and versatile, can track down a good price too0

If your hall has a sound facility / (or even a potable ) HIFI device, you may be able to connect a Bluetooth reciver into a line-in jack?

(Cheap one like above would be fine, as long as Bluetooth 4.1 is supported.)
Then you would be able to save money a lot. Sorry if I missed your point.0
