Can anyone recommend a good Bluetooth speaker for a small hall - about 15 people doing exercises. We also plan to use it for our social events for about 50 people? Would like to spend as little as possible say £100-200

I don't have a bluetooth one but have you looked at mains powered bluetooth soundbars? I would imagine you would need one that is at least 200w but you could visit a retailer such as Richersounds who could demo and advise you.0

just convert any old stereo audio unit/Boombox to receive Blutooth signal with one of these.
Make sure the Audio system has a audio 'line IN' socket

Sounds like you need a portable PA more than a dedicated bluetooth speaker. Fortunately, many portable PA's now also come with bluetooth connectivity.
Take a look at something like https://www.maplin.co.uk/p/ion-party-rocker-plus-pa-speaker-a32wa0 -
JBL bluetooth speakers are one if the best and they have a variety you can choose from whichever suits your budget. I have one for 3 years now and I'm planning to get a bigger one hopefully under some good deal I can find.0

Sonos if you want a cheaper but good quality but you can also opt for the Jbl extreme but a little pricey though you will not regret it. Jbl also comes with cheaper but good quality variants too.0

The speaker that I've been looking at is the Pro Audio addon c5. Gets great reviews, costs around £210 and works with Bluetooth and WiFi.0
