RMA Resolve ~ any info?

Had a strange letter today......
Basically my American Express credit card debt was recently passed onto a Debt Collection Agency (AIC Allied) who came across all heavy handed and made all sorts of threats, complete b******s to be honest.
Then today a letter arrived from a company called RMA Resolve (the 'e' of Revolve was a euro symbol on their logo). There were coming across saying they wanted to "help with my current financial situation, on behalf of their client American Express"!!
Do you think AIC Allied has sold the debt onto RMA Resolve? Or are two companies chasing the same debt? Is this normal procedure?
Has anyone heard of RMA Resolve or had a similar situation??

Also I would be inclined to include an instruction to communicate only in writing and possibly to copy in the Office Of Fair Trading:

thanks for the link mate, makes very interesting reading.
Do you think my debt has been "sold" to either RMA Resolve or AIC Allied or are they both trying to collect in on behalf of AMEX?0 -
anyone else else had any dealing with RMA Resolve (I believe Resolve are a separate division of RMA?).
Thanks0 -
Hi Everyone, Glad the forum's back up!!
Just to keep you informed of my situation, I contacted Amex today who told me my debt was no longer with AIC (Allied) but is now in the hands of RMA RESOLVE. Spoke to RMA RESOLVE on the telephone and they came across as VERY understanding and said all they want me to do is set up a regular payment plan to make a start with paying off my debt to Amex.
Are they being all friendly for a reason or are they one of the better DCA's??
If anyone here has had dealing's with RMA RESOLVE (I've been told RESOLVE is a division of RMA?)
Opinions / Experiences needed!!!

Hi. Good to hear from you!
Just being nosey but how much was your Amex debt for and what sort of payments were they accepting from you?? It's just I need to contact them this week and come to a payment plan arrangement!
When they took over your debt from Amex did they add any charges to the amount you owed? Also how did you make payments to them? Cheque, standing order etc?
Sorry for all the questions but would just like some info before I deal with them.

Hi mate!
Sounds like people have had a very different experience to the one that I have had on the telephone!
I was told RMA Resolve and RMA are 2 divisions of the same company?
Is one more understanding than the other?
What horror stories are there?
Please share them guys!
Thanks.

Hi again Spurs,
My Amex debt of 3k was passed directly from Amex to RMA-Resolve about 5 months after I stopped making the minimum payments. I now pay RMA-Resolve as part of a Payplan DMP. I have to say that they have been one of the least troublesome Debt Collection Agencies that I am having to deal with. They write to me about every six months offering a settlement figure, but when I explain I cannot pay it off in a lump sum, the DMP continues. I have not missed a single payment and have had no hassle from them. As ever though, in my case, I left the negotiating to Payplan and all seems to be going well so far. Someone told me that they we actually 'part of' Amex and were in the same building, but I have not looked into this.DFW Nerd # 768 - PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTS :cool:0 -

Thanks for the info orph!!
I've agreed to pay RMA Resolve £30.00 per month (initially for a six month period). After this period I guess I will have to contact them to carry on the arrangement or set up a new one?
Do they hassle you after the agreed period to settle the account or will they be happy to continue the arrangement?
Any information on this would be appreciated.0
