Air Canada not responding to complaints??

Apologies if this is in the wrong section.
Basically paid for a seat upgrade and if anything it was a seat downgrade for many reasons, complained and they offered me 25% off their flights. I am not flying with them again and asked for a refund of the extra cost and no response whatsoever, apparently they are renowned for having dire customer service!
What next?

can you elaborate on that. If you payed to upgrade to business class for example, and were not provided with a seat in business class you may be able to take this up with your card company
If you were sat in business class but it was a worse located seat than your previous seat (eg had a window seat and 'upgraded' to a middle seat) there is no refund due
How much was the Upgrade cost and which elements of the upgrade did you not receive?0 -

I paid for a seat with extra legroom iirc, it had less legroom than a normal seat, the armrest didn't lift and the seat didn't recline, to top it off it was by the toilet, it was a long overnight flight to London!!!!!0

You mean you don't remember for sure what you paid for? Sounds like you might have had a bulkhead seat? If so, it will almost certainly have had more legroom in front of the seat although there won't be a seat in front of you which you can out your feet under. It's perfectly normal that armrests won't lift in those seats. That it was by the toilet is irrelevant.0 -

There may have been more volume of space but there was less length than a standard seat as I moved to a normal seat after take off.0 -
You need to do a bit better than 'iirc' if you're to get anywhere.
Extra legroom is often about extra kneeroom rather than the ability to stretch further, fixed armrests are the norm in many airlines and non-reclining seats are often found at front/rear and emergency exits
Being honest unless you want to complain for the sake of it I'd be chalking it up to experience and making sure you check fully next time0 -
If you bought a 'preferred seat' then the description is
Preferred Seats are in exit rows, in select bulkhead rows and in the first few rows of the cabin on some flights. They offer a seat pitch of up to 35" (depending on the aircraft) compared to the standard 31-33".
Did you choose the seat from the plan or were issued a random seat?0 -

Chose from a plan.0
